Stradee greets Lola and Coblat with a "Good Morning" glad to see Lola's returned safely, and promises Cobalt to speak with Pepe regarding correct pattern and fitting instructions for radiation suit.

Stradee thanks Withers for great coffee ~ busy day today ~ sees HIAMA
napping by the Salon fireplace.

Hi HIAMA! Glad you found Lola's ~ good to see ya again!

Danon - please baptize your 1913 F-1! And no it's not a B-1!! ATC was mighty pleased that Stradee's Hornet finally got its purple bubbles all sorted out but you, ungrateful Sir, have no such excuse for more alphabet soup - ahem, and anyone who thinks am trying to get on good side of ATC is correct <G>

HIAMA drifts off to sleep and dreams of....
.... check one:

1. Duncan's ghost
2. Dulcinea's ghost
3. HofT's Wobbly Goblin
4. The White Queen
5. Ethel's Cafe Ghost >>>

>>> and if # 5, please go back and bring him with you - Orpheus' search for Euridice will light the way, though Orpheus ultimately lost her and subsequently came to a bad end <G>

Ah, HofT, you noticed my miscallsign eh?? Well, now that I have the Dep to play with I'm thinking seriously of the original Boeing B-1 to go with it. Hey, I love those old birds. Next choice is the original Supermarine S-5 (Schneider Cup winner). Both are amphibs and there IS water in Central Park. Hard to choose between them - lets see, ah - um, mail or speed - hmmm mail or speed. Ok, speeds good. S-5 it is!!
And don't worry about those ATC boys and girls, they are a good bunch of people and I visit them often. Next trip there I'll introduce you if you want to go and visit. (I used to do that often in real life)

HI ama!! Nice to meet ya. Want to go up for some loops?? Is he asleep?? You'd think those 12 cups of coffee would keep him up - oh well, I'll catch him later when he's awake.

Danon - in real life am a member here: http://www.acone.org/
and know we got lots of people with some really antique planes - in case you come out East. Once flew a WWII bomber (Hanscom Field to Cape Cod and back) and couldn't believe the hard physical work involved - was power steering unknown at the time they were designed?

Btw Lola may be running out of space for all our planes - she's been very, VERY, hospitable and generous, but at least our hydroplanes can be kept elsewhere; am former owner of a Lake, btw - no pontoons, lands on its belly - who got really, really tired of washing it every day (otherwise propeller gets all gummed up with sea salt), not to mention discovering - the hard way! - why a bilge pump is compulsory part of the equipment <G>

Before hiama collapsed into a loud, snoring sleep (punctuated with the Three Stooges version of Curly sounds - the one where his tie kept coming up on the inhale and down wiggling on the exhale, along with the high-pitched 'brrrreee-eeepp breeee--pppp brrpp! Wheeze....gasp <snorkle> breee-eeeep!') -

anyway BEFORE all this, he tried to pinch cobalts' derriere but her radiation suit was so ill-fitting that he

P.S. kept a plane at Van Nuys (LA area) when lived out West and we often got the most *incredible* NASA prototypes flying in from Edwards AFB (practically next door). And yes, my all-time-fave, the F-117 (THANK YOU LOLA for covering Blatham's $134million overdraft!!) was often to be seen in the vicinity - which is where friendship with ATC came in handy, since when in the air would get so fascinated watching it would forget about minor matters like course, altitude, airspeed etc, and had to be reminded, not always gently <G>

Hi Hoft

Reading your post regarding F11 A reminded me of first time viewed Stealth.

Blue Angels were practicing manuvers over San Francisco Bay (bridge traffic almost at a standstill /not bothering drivers as Blue Angels phenominal flying
isn't seen everyday by the average driver/ looked up and there was the Stealth seeming to hover over Golden Gate Bridge!

We were amazed!

Stradee - it's almost a magical thing! Never actually flew a fighter jet (except a trainer, with the instructor there) so the closest ever got to an F-117 (before Blatham bought me this one, that is!) was at an air show at Edwards - we weren't allowed to sit inside, but could look at the cockpit. It used to fly around a lot without too much security but after the terrorist attacks in NY all the times I saw one taking off or landing some really big armored vehicles with mounted guns were driving parallel to it on either side of the runway..... Sad, very sad, that such protection should be needed....

You are right about the lack of space for planes around here. Ok, here's what I'll do - I will trade all my fw aircraft for one Lockheed SR-71!! That'l save us lots of room.
btw, you can sit in the cockpit of one for real at the Seattle Museum of Flight http://www.museumofflight.org/visit/exhibits.html
The annual flyins and acft exhibits are the best too. One year they had a Goblin there that you could walk up to. Several years I was a volunteer there (just for the crewmember T-shirts) lol Actually, I had a hangar at Boeing field for years, 210 Centurion.

Danon, we're in business - you with the Blackbird, Stradee with the Hornet, I with the F-117 - surely Lola's hangar by the stables has space for one plane per guest! Timber can decide whenever he gets back - btw, he and I are on another thread also which may interest you on the Vietnam war. Back next week. Hope y'all have wonderful time in Irish party; Mikey's musicians are finished setting up their instruments, and I already hear pounding in Lola's grand ballroom - Riverdance! <G>

Hoft ~ right! Ya know, my first reaction to seeing the Stealth (had no clue what the airplane was then) I truly thought someone had placed a huge
kite atop the bridge as some sort of decoration. I swear to you, we called the toll station and asked! The woman kindof laughed and said "That's the Stealth"! We were all "My God"! An awsome machine from just viewing at a couple of hundred feet! How fortunate for you to have been able to see the Stealth parked!

I agree about the extra security measures. Very sad.

Danon, quite a few years ago, we owned a Moony Exec 21. Was really a nice airplane. My claim to fame was radio communications. Smile

Lola arrives at the front door or her house, very tired indeed. She's been meeting in mediation with a robotic lawyer, programed to destroy men, women and children getting in the way of his greedy, wealthy clients. I think Jespah may know him, he was most likely built by the same company supplying the insta secretary and modeled after some of Jes' ex-associates from the New Jersey Bar Association. And tomorrow, Lola has to return to said mediation to be brutalized once again by the nasty fellow.

"Withers, I need a drink and my masseuse, please," says Lola, "upstairs as soon as possible. But first I want to visit for a minute with my friends."

"HIAMA!" says Lola, "how good to see you here. I see you're having a nice nap. When you awaken, please feel free to ask for anything you like from the willing and eager house staff. I am so glad to see you."

Lola pinches HIAMA's cheek and gives him a kiss on his forehead. HIAMA stirs, smiles and reaches out his hand to hold Lola's for a brief minute.

"Hi, Lola," says HIAMA, "I've searched high and low for you and the gang........finally I have found Nirvana. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"

Lola smiles and sits down beside HIAMA.

"Oh, hi, Ghost," says Lola. "So good to see you again. Will you do me a quick favor? Will you fly down to the Cafe 101 and ask Wassau to bring us a few more of his clickers? We need to click a few more landing strips and aircraft hangers for my high flying friends. No, no, I don't mean those of us eating the Brownies......I mean the accomplished pilots and their benefactors who frequent this joint.......uh......I mean Salon. Oh, would you? Thank you so very much."

As Lola moves toward the stairs for a appointment with her masseuse, she sees P&L and asks her how the crossword puzzle is going today.

She waves to Mikey and c.i., both enjoying the beer and Irish music provided by Mikey's friends.........

As Lola passes the window, she sees Danon, HofT, Stradee and Blatham taking off to parts unknown......she knows they will return soon to enjoy the ambiance and friendship of the Salon.

And Cobalt, who has finally extricated herself from her ill fitting suit asks Lola if she has something she can slip into. She wants to spiff up for the company. Lola and Cobalt ascend the stairs together to visit one of Lola's closets to find something special for Cobalt to wear. And Diane and P&L come along too. Cobalt needs to knock the eyeballs of her new suitors right out of their heads, and she will.......she surely will.

Now, Lola goes to her massage with eagerness and a bit of resignation.............as she goes, she thinks of firstthought who is stranded in the Cafe 101 because his hotmail account has been "wiped out" for some unknown reason. He says his cat is being treated for cancer and needs special attention. Maybe Wassau can show him the way......I don't know.......

Hiama awakens with a start.

He looks round pensively to see himself not in the Cafe formerly known as Ethel's -he is in fact in Lola's salon.

Cobalt is smiling at him for some reason-a derriere to die for is keeping her nice and comfortable on the leather Chesterfield, where Blatham is massaging her feet.

Pal would you like me to massage your feet, you look tired and I have some ability in shiatsu and reiki.

What's this about flying machines I hear, Danon, Stradee and HofT ?

If god had meant us to fly he would have given us wings look what happened to Icarus !

Lola, the coffee is columbian isn't it ?

Was there something else in it as I keep on sleeping and coffee is a stimulant, caffeine acting diametrically opposed to the cause of wakefulness as far as I know.

Well as most of my old firends know I ahve to swim across the pond to get here so I 'll be getting ready -where are my water wings Lola ?

See you tomorrow-thats today in Australia

Slowly, a head lifts up from under a blanket on a chair near the fire. It is Diane, bleary eyed, just beginning to recover from a stomach bug and a cold, a double whammy.

Hiama, so good to see you here at Lola's!! Now the group feels more complete.

And that was about as much as she could handle as she sinks back into the chair. Goodnight again.

PaL replies to hiama, "Oh Yes, I am tired from taking Jack to the Park. He's a very high-energy dog and I need to run all over the place to keep up with him. I would Love a foot massage. I had a reiki massage when I was in the Catskills in New York, last October, and it was wonderful. So very relaxing and yet so energizing. Thanks, hiama. I think there are connections to everywhere in the body through the feet. Ahhhhhh......"

PaL hopes that Lola's meetings with the lawyers will be productive and that Lola will remember that lawyers only deal with materialistic items. They can't touch Lola's true inner self. PaL hopes that Lola will stay strong, and that she will remember that she has many loving friends here at her house.
