Hey, woodchucks, elephants, pigs with red wings, whatever. As long as we don't get kicked out of Lola's forever, it's all good, no?

I am soooooo ready for a party. Let's start looking through Lola's store of costumes for something really funky, then track down everybody else.

Who has some cd's? God knows we have lots of munchie material.

Actually, could we wait until tomorrow? I don't have much time right now. Plus, we need to stock the bar. Man and woman cannot live by brownies alone.

Did you mean "Music of the Night"?

I'd much prefer Al Green this evening. (In this Salon, cobalt finds that she has turned into a graceful dancer and that there are many willing partners - tipsy and doodly, but willing...)

Hey, Music of the Night sounds good to me! But, the Mozart one is A Little Night Music. Al Green is good - I bet Lola has the cd behind the bar. Let's go see.

Now Diane, I beg to differ with you on the subject of living on Brownies alone.........well.........brownies and all night sex....that's enough, don't you think?

Danon, where the heck is Atlanta, TX? North, South, East or West........?

Jeffers, please bring the new batch of brownies for Cobalt. You don't have to worry, Cobalt about cyber brownies. They don't show up on any test, p or not.

And flying pigs, woodchucks and Blatham, all excellent subjects for a night like this one. Speaking of which, where is that Blatham? He's good for an all nighter................I just know he is.

And btw, Mikey, that wasn't me throwing you out for singing. Singing is always good.......not sharing might be a problem, but you wouldn't be guilty of that, now would you?

blatham studiously avoids the salon this evening and, thinking of his mother while reciting from memory those stark character building passages out of Leviiticus, steers his aging Honda towards home.

[Helmet-mounted display alarm goes off! Quickly switching to head-up display on windshield of experimental jet, HofT discovers that New Year's Eve party planned by architect of Lola's Salon, Blatham, involves wearing sackcloth, using ashes for makeup, reading from dusty old texts, and absolutely no drinking, sex, or dancing!]

Somewhat alarmed she lands at airfield nearest Atlanta, Texas, to consult with fellow pilot Danon how to get party planning back on track.

Danon awoke wanting a cup badly. Mmmmm, he said, Coffee good!!
Whats with the towsack outfits. Hey, I'm wearing one too!! How did that happen? I remember dancing and then -----? Towsacks!! I must have been DRUGGED - I don't get drunk, ever!!

About that time danon's network of 'good buddies' in Atlanta - situated in N.E. TX where Arkansas and Louisiana join TX - called to tell him that some lady had landed a jet at the local airport and was asking about him. Closed mouthed as they were they had no idea about his location but quickly informed her that since she was a lady pilot she should know that the very first black female licensed pilot in the world - Bessie Coleman - was born in Atlanta, TX. and we were proud of it. Frustrated, HofT jumped back into the jet and took off after first giving a tribute salute to Bessie. Well, nothing to do but head for NYC and see if Lola's party was started yet.

As usual, the lovely Lola states thing clearly and succinctly. Yes, yes, and yes.

Cobalt is dancing gracefully to Night Music, twirling around the dance floor like Pavlova. Diane is out there too, but while wearing her F me shoes, she tends to stumble, those damn little straps are sooo uncomfortable, but at least she's willing to try.

All are looking forward to HofT's arrival.

P&L, guitar in hand, is playing her heart out, easily switching from the guitar to the piano, depending on the request. She's also pretty hot stuff on the dance floor.

Only one thing is troubling the partiers: Blatham. Blatham quoting the bible is one thing--he is very knowledgable, but Blatham missing a party? No,no, something is wrong. Could it be that the Reverends Pat and Cat have poisoned his mind? If so, a rescue must be instigated. A good man should never be left alone to fall into their self-righteous, greedy little hands.

The partying continues, but tracers have been sent out to check up on the insidious Reverends.

Did anyone else notice page 58 had distorted dimensions for a while? Hope those reverends haven't branched out into electronic communications. Anyway - refuse to go anyplace dressed in potato sacks. Hope Blatham recovers from this dizzy spell fast - or else the party is toast.

Wondering about potato sacks, jes stirs. "These things itch, and I don't like wearing something that says Idaho on the front. It seems vaguely kinky."

DLowan - just the person we needed, a song expert. Have you any idea whether Blatham joined a group named "Dixie Chicks"??? Their theme song is "Praise the Lord and Pass the Ammunition" - yes, honestly <G>

PaL smiles at Bunny.... "Yes, we need a song! Something for the New Year! Here's the sheet music with the lyrics......"

PaL picks up her guitar and plays "All That You Have Is Your Soul" by Tracy Chapman, and Bunny sings the words..... Everyone joins in, each time the chorus comes around.....

"Don't be tempted by the shiny apple
Don't you eat of a bitter fruit
Hunger only for a taste of justice
Hunger only for a world of truth
'Cause all that you have is your soul."

After the song is over, everyone raises their glasses in a toast.

PaL says, "And now we need an old-time rock-and-roll tune that we can dance to! How about "Old Time Rock and Roll", by Bob Seger!"

Pounding on the keys of the grand piano, PaL plays.....

"Still like that old time rock'n' roll
That kind of music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock 'n' roll."

Lola's Salon is jumping with the dancing.....

Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm also worried about Deb;s statement of being able to live on sex alone.

Who among the men here would be willing to go to her rescue.

The sound of stampeding Tony Lama boots is heard throughout Lola's salon as each man runs to the front, hand raised in eager anticipation.

They are soooooo transparent.

In the quiet shadows behind Lola's Salon, two dishevelled miscreants, one tall and thin, the other shorter and heavier, lift the lid of a dumpster and drop a heavy rolled up carpet inside (cue sounds: breaking glass, sqwooshie liquids, cursing)
