Danon,
Danon, I'd be glad to use Lola's clicker (what?) and join in. Although I tend to blather on about italian matters, I am a rank beginner with enthusiasm.
It all sounds good, but I am not so comfy walking in to the forum. Not used to having someone serve, for example, I guess that is quite west coast of me. I'd rather find out more about Withers as a person.

I need to check in and just be quiet, but being quiet is such a travail for a loud soul. Or whatever it is I have, a loud Me.

Will grab my lip reins and zip up, instead of barging on in.

Peace&Love and Jack (super Border Collie) wander into Lola's Salon, sniffing the aroma of fine Italian cooking.......

"Hi Everyone!"

"Woof!"

PaL thanks Lola and hiama for the special Italian coffee and croissants. She's glad to see her old friends here.

"So, Danon has already arrived in Italy?" Tilting her head upwards, looking toward cyberspace, PaL says "Bon Voyage Mr and Mrs Danon."

"I'm looking forward to hearing stories of travel in Italy. I hope they take lots of pictures. I'd love to see that Saturday Market!"

PaL explains "the clicker" to ossobuco..... "The Clicker is used to transport ourselves to other times and/or places. Kinda like 'beam me up Scotty'. We used our Clickers extensively, back in the Abuzz threads for Cafe 101. We transported ourselves to the 1700's, 1960's, Scotland, Greece, and many other times and places. We also used the Clicker to rid the world of negative political rivals and people who were exploiting artists. Ahhhh, they were great times."

PaL becomes dreamy-eyed, thinking about that beautiful poet in Pompeii.....

Very Happy

I believe I'll have a couple of slices of that melon with proscuitto. And just pass the coffee pot under my nose, Withers...that Italian coffee is so strong that one whiff will be enough this morning...

Thanks for explaining more about the clickers, P&L. Perhaps we can use them to join M/M danon in Italy?

Mmmm...Daydreaming about Italy....my favorite pastime...

Well, almost. Embarrassed

Uhhhhh, diane, P&L and all. I am presently in Italy only in the spiritual sense. That is I'm planning via the books - tourist and history, etc. Actually will be landing in Munich on the 3d of September and visit Germany, Czech R., Austria, Slovenia, Hungary and N Italy before returning home on the 14th of October.

ossobuco, please don't be quiet! That is not allowed in the Salon. Just click yourself to Venice and enjoy. In fact the whole crew may just join you there, and, of course, I'll be already there - in Harry's Bar sipping a whisky.

In the mean time, Withers, I'll have a traditional Italian after dinner coffee. Strong and dark with a shot of grappa poured into it.

PaL explains to BillW, "We clicked ourselves to Pompeii to save the resident artists from the eruption of Vesuvius. We had quite an adventure!"

here's a link to the Abuzz thread where the adventure began..... it's a long thread..... the Pompeii Adventure begins toward the end of the thread..... and, at the end of the thread, there's a link to the next thread....

PaL gives BillW a Clicker, and sets it for 'March 2001'.....

"Hi Danon! Is it really you? Have we clicked ourselves to Italy? No?"

PaL joins Danon at the kitchen table, looking through the travel guides to Italy.....

They are in the little mountain village of St Pietro Val D'Astico. It's above Venice - an hours drive - up the Astico Valley. Sort of above the (a) in Brescia on your map. It's really beautiful.

P&L, such fond memories........

thinking about it, Abuzz is a little like Pompeii.......sad but true.

Maybe we could go back there and find your poet. That would be fun. And we could save a few more people and dogs........and .........and.......we should stop by for Samson at the cafe if we're going. He may want to collect some personal belongings............
