Sierra Song- You are quite right. Air America is being murdered in the ratings. Most Americans, if they are not demented, traitorous swine, or just politically motivated, do not want to hear our country denigrated over and over. People are tired of listening to the squeaky voiced Barney Frank continue to attack our country.

No, kinda like the Dixie Chicks are kicking their detractors' butts all over the place.

Something Mysteryman left out of his article.
Quote:
But not all shows on this tour are below projections. "We're happy (with our on-sale) and comparatively seem to be ahead of most," says John Page, Global Spectrum COO/GM at Wachovia Center in Philadelphia, where the trio is booked for July 25. A second date was added for the Air Canada Center in Toronto, where the first show sold out in eight minutes. "Canada loves the Chicks," says ACC booking director Patti-Ann Tarlton.

Not doing especially well in country areas, but doing superbly in non cournty areas. Like selling out the show in eight minutes.

Earlier in the thread, the Chicks were quoted as saying they are planning to move beyond country music, and it looks like they have done it.

Well, if a group that is as well known as the Dixie Chicks, who, unknown to most of Americans, have stunning foreign policy credentials, think that President Bush is not a good man, who am I to contradict such an august group?

Shocked OOHHHH! I didn't know that Bush had stunning foreign policy credentials?! What Cracker Jack box did he get those in? Laughing

Chicks tour looks like it's a huge success despite the right-wing liras trying to spin it as a failure. Just look at the tour dates, you will see they have added second shows in some cities. If this tour is a failure, every act should wish they were such failures.

The Chicks say:

""Any reports being made about the cancellation of our upcoming Accidents And Accusations tour are completely false," the band's statement began.

"We have known since March 2003 that our path in this business would have obstacles at every pass. We have enjoyed meeting each one head-on and we will continue to do so. Dixie Chicks fans are as active and dedicated as they come. This time around we are willingly feeling our way through uncharted territory. Things don't come as easy as they might have come in the past, and it makes each accomplishment more exciting and appreciated."

they've lost some dates and added 7 more...they're doin fine.

It is no wonder that the Chicks apologized initially. They received physical threats, and are probably still in some danger.

Considering Bush's performance, dumping on him may become the in thing.

Rather than discuss the physical attributes of these beautiful ladies, why not congratulate them on their guts to speak their minds?

It's something a lot of Americans don't do very much of these days.
Nice to know a bunch of girls aren't wussies.
