You said: "Yes, it appears he has already joined an organization that does the first aleady!"

I wasn't sure what part of Chrisees post you were referring to (since it was a quote within a quote). I asked you to clarify. What is so difficult about that?

Do you vote Republican? If you do, you support an organization that in chriisy's words "opposes reproductive rights, marriage equality, full civil rights for LGBTs etc. " In other words JP, you're supporting a darkly bigoted, hateful organization with your vote!

She later changed the wording ...

I hate to disappooint you so, because I am like the reformed smoker ... I truly detest the Republican Party and practically everything they stand for! The hipocrisy, and the hatred they maintain for their fellow man makes me want to puke!

Bring a reborn liberal and all!!

Why were you a republican at one point, anon? And do you think you were a different person back then? I just don't understand how it happens that you hate so much what you once were. There must have been reasons for your positions back then, even if you now think they were wrong... Once again, I don't think you are wrong or anything, I just oppose sweeping generalizations. It's a gut thing - any generalization is suspicious to me - be it republicans, smokers, blond women, fat people, communists, christians, moslims.... whoever.

No one is making SWEEPING generalizations....EXCEPT YOU!

I have already identified the specific repressive beliefs of the right-wing while you continue to repeat the same nonsensical swill.

Interesting.

I very much agree with Dag's take. I do think there is some limited interest as Walter points out -- that morality family values yadda yadda are such a cornerstone of the conservative credo that when these blatant internal contradictions come out they're worth noting -- but I can't get too exercised beyond that.

Voted for Nixon, Ford, Reagan twice, and was damned proud of it. Then I started getting interested in politics, and stopped listening to soundbytes. Once I started studying the two parties, what they really stood for, and what they did in practice, it wasn't too hard to change, and change quickly. Once I started looking at it all, I started realizing just how poisoned I had been, and just who had done it! Iran/Contra started the beginning of my awakening, then the bank scandal, then the way the U.S. and the CIA sucked Iraq into the first Iraq war ... it just get's darker and uglier the more you look at the Republicans.

If you look at the way they energized the Republican base in 2004, you will realize that the 11 states which had anti-gay measures made a big difference in Republican turnout. Hate and Bigotry, Republican family values!!

Exactly, soz. And I said above that there is certainly some credibility to the idea that certain sets of ideas and values draw certain people... but our conclusions should be limited to that, not make broad statements about all republicans or all democrats.

Yes. The capacity of some on the (more passionate) left in America to get lost in total trivia when it comes to identifying the problems with the conservatives ruling the US is ... exasperating. So much is going wrong, big things, and we have to wade through dozens of pages about, say, Gannon.

Republicans have sex? Couldn't tell by my clientele -- they all act like the last time they had it was during the Spanish American War. But they don't care -- they are all over-dosed on Prosac. Great, too, because it makes them buy art.
