Yes, that is an awesome ad.

The one problem with the ad is that it failed to include the truly appaling (revealing a CIA agents name) and the truly hilarous crimes (stealing tube socks from Target) that republicans commited.

What say we put together this list including all the indictments from 2007 and 2008 as well and remake this ad for 08. If we get together the funds to air it right after the republican convention, with a able2know.org at the end, we can both promote this site and have somewhat of an impact this election year.

Plus, I think we can make the bet even more interesting. Instead of reading the names in one breath, how about trying to read them all in under 30 seconds.

I would donate my money for that.

Sen. Vitter Lays Low Amid Escalating Madam Problem
As of this afternoon, Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) still hadn't moved to quash the subpoena he received three days ago from the so-called D.C. Madam. He worked and voted all week on Capitol Hill, but Vitter assiduously avoided public appearances.

On Tuesday, the day Vitter was subpoenaed by the former owner of an escort service to which he has been linked, Vitter skipped a Louisiana delegation news conference with Rep. Bobby Jindal (R-La.), the state's incoming governor. Sen. Mary Landrieu (D), Rep. Rodney Alexander (R) and outgoing Gov. Kathleen Blanco were all there.

On Thursday of last week, Vitter was conspicuously missing from the limelight as Landrieu and the rest of the Louisiana delegation touted their "$12 Billion Day" - having secured that much money to help the state's continued rebuilding effort from Katrina and provide future storm and flood protection.

But then again, Thursday was the day Hustler magazine provided advance copies to the media of its upcoming January issue featuring the former prostitute who claims she provided services to Vitter in 1999, the year he won a House race in a special election.

Oddly, Hypocrisy Rooted in High Morals

Quote:
Morally upstanding people are the do-gooders of society, right? Actually, a new study finds that a sense of moral superiority can lead to unethical acts, such as cheating. In fact, some of the best do-gooders can become the worst cheats.

Stop us if this sounds familiar

It's always been bi-partisan, Thomas. There are hypocrites of every political persuasion. It's just that it's weighted so heavily to the conservative/Republican side.

Not really, but since the repubs have been in power for the last 8 years, their indiscretions will garner the most attention.

If and when the dems take power, they will get the same treatment.

You've missed the mark MM.

It has nothing to do with who is in power and you know it.

Yes, it does.
Do you remember the House Bank Scandal, or the problems with the House post office?

Those both occurred when the dems were in power, and they were the ones that paid the most for it.
People like Rostenkowski.

If the repubs had been in power then, they would have caught the most hell for it.

Whatever party is in power will always be the most scrutinized and will be the ones to get more closely watched.

The Gipper wouldn't have pulled that ****, neither would either of the Bush's. More'n I could say for Kennedy or LBJ, while Jackson held a grudge till the end of his days for the honor of his wife.

By and large, Republicans, and I ain't one, keep their **** together much better than Dems.

I don't think any kind of lusting is good, in and of itself, I mean, if it's what you want, go get it. It just seems like one team can buy the ticket and take the ride and the other can't...
