Not officially, but I have noticed A2K leftists seem incapable of controlling themselves. The urge to attack conservative posters on a personal level appears to be too much of a temptation for some to control. This is not something I've noticed coming from the right side of this board.

And your hypocrisy, c.i., in complaining about "righties" using ad hominem attacks (in response to my calling you misguided), is laughable in light of your frequent personal attacks against conservatives, a practice you defend on the basis of "truth."

Really? Then you haven't been paying attention to your own side, and what they are doing.

Not that this is out of charcter for you, or Republicans in general these days.

I've been paying attention in a general sense, and see most of the moaning and complaining coming from the left.

Not that this is out of character ....

No, you haven't been paying attention to the actions of your own party and it's supporters; you turn a blind eye to their actions, preferring to focus on your 'enemies.'

This isn't unusual or particularly immoral, but it doesn't make you a credible or impartial contributor.

I'm talking about the posters on this site ("This is not something I've noticed coming from the right side of this board."). What are you talking about.

In the first place, people who legitimately are leftists would not consider me a leftist. In the second place, if McG calls someone a political hack, and espeically in light of the nature of his "contributions" to this site, it is nothing but mere whining to complain about being so characterized himself.

Finally, Tico sees what he wants to see--he ignores the fine frenzy with which rightwingnuts start threads the entire purpose of which is to bring all of those with whom they disagree into disrepute before a single response is logged. This is the sort of thing i have learned to expect from Tico, though.

All the attack dogs on A2K have the same routine. Slobber all over the threads til the point is lost and then try to act haughtily superior when questioned on their tactics. The moderators on A2K are impotent anymore as it has continued unabated and has become a free-for-all doggypile by the asshat liberals here. Conservative voices are drowned out by the 12:1 ratio of hateful libbies who have made it their personal dream in life to put McG, Tico, Brandon, etc in "their place". What a goal in life... Rolling Eyes

When called on it, they blabber on about "hypocrisy" and whine on and on and on and on... It's a pitiful life indeed when the best you can do is "Do you still cry to your mommy?"

So, carry on with your group masterbations. That seems to be the only thing most of you are good at anyways.

Speaking of group masturbation (you misspelled that), where would the rightwingnuts be without the verb "to whine?"

As for the contention about obscuring the point, Amigo's post was on topic in that it was a response to McG's comment on the article that C.I. posted. McG quoted a paragraph from the article and called it BS. C.I. asked who it was BS. Amigo then produced an article which alleges that one part of the paragraph which McG had quoted and characterized as BS might well have been true.

However, rather than canvass that possibility, McG dismissed the message by attempting to shoot the messenger, and doing so through the medium of personal slur.

Have you ever considered the fact that maybe you're just so much on the right that you perceive virtually anybody to be on the (your) left, in comparison?

We would probably make frequent use of "moan" and "complain."

American conservatives will never accept such a proposition because it spoils their fun. In fact, they become irate when it is pointed out that there is no organized left in the United States as compared to the rest of the world.

I break it into two political camps here: the "Oh my God, this is a train wreck" camp and the "Nya-nya-nya-nya, i've got my fingers in my ears, i can't hear you" camp . . .

"Personal slur" against whom? Doug Thompson?

Amigo produced a portion of an article, and repeated it 6 times. As McG pointed out, that article is based wholly on conveniently "anonymous sources," and serves as its principle purpose to be red meat to his willing leftist believers, since they are the only ones likely to believe it and regurgitate it as gospel whenever it suits their agenda.

Both of which sneering, virtriolic responses ignore that McG made teh accusation that the "lefties" were trying to divert the discussion, when that is precisely what he has attempted to, and largely succeeded in doing.

McTag, referring to your note about the Independent, this is a good bit from Fisk in his lead piece:

....For the truth, we should turn to a well-known analyst who warned us that in Iraq, the British have been "led into a trap from which it shall be hard to escape with dignity and honour. They have been tricked into it by a steady withholding of information. The Baghdad communiqués are belated, insincere, incomplete. Things have been far worse than we have been told. Our administration more bloody and inefficient than the public knows ... We are today not far from a disaster." This is the most concise and accurate account I have yet read of our present folly.

It was written about the British occupation of Iraq in 1920 by Lawrence of Arabia....

There is another interesting bit about Pat Buchanan that I'll patch in if I can find it again.
