Nice letter, littlek!

Umm...just one teency weency little thing I noticed.....

Quote:
Learning in an interactive format will allow me to not only learn by doing, which how I prefer to learn, but also to see how my classmates learn and teach.

I would change this sentence to read as follows:

Learning in an interactive format will allow me to learn, not only by doing, which is how I prefer to learn, but also by observing how my classmates learn and teach.

That way, the tenses of your verbs, "doing" and "observing" are consistent. (I changed "see" to "observe." Sounds more teacher-like, no?)

(I used to work as a proof-reader in an ad agency! Can you tell? Ha!)

Anyway, best wishes with your letter!

Now the waiting will be filled with tension and "What ifs."

The letter is great and Stray Cat's suggestions were fine.

This is going to happen!

As most of you know I've been caring for mys sis' kids for 6 years. We have not been paying taxes, but have been exchanging money with the idea that it would be a family gift were the IRS to ask ($10K can be passed from one family member to another without paying taxes). Seems that our arrangment was dubious at best. We would have to pay some amount of back taxes for the last 6 years if we were caught. Not a lot of money, but significant. The amount of the back pay would depend on how good out tax attorney was. Anyway. I found out that, as a masters student, I would only be elligible for loans, not grants. So, my mother offered me a low-interest, defered payment loan from money she received as an inheritance.

I thought about it for a day and can see little reason to put me and my sis' family at risk if I can do this with my mother. So. The application is signed, sealed, stamped - just needs to be dropped in a mail box (or hand delivered).
