Agree. Let's not mess up your thread with it.
I am so happy for you!! Such a milestone and a new beginning. I hope to follow in your footsteps.
<fingers crossed>
When do you start?
I posted here so I wouldn't have to post over there!
What will you go back to school for?
I don't know when it starts. It all depends on whether (or not!) they get enough people to start the program running. Hmmm, let me back up.
The program I signed up for is an off-campus, intesive weekend masters program. I take one weekend per month at an off-campus location (cape cod), each course is squeazed into two such weekends (each weekend is 21 hours, I think) with homework to do before, between and after the 2 weekends.
So, they collect a certain number of students and THEN they start the program. They wanted to start this program in feb-march, but now they say it will start this spring (I guess march-april). The students enrolled in the begining stay together in each succeeding course (they call us a cohort) for about 2 years.
If we fail to get the 15, or so, students we need, the program doesn't start. At that point I have to make new decisions.
And if that happens Wench and I will start our vigil anew.
I've never heard of a program like that. Sounds like a great opportunity.
I'm still in for my Bachelor's. I want to go to Ph.D., but at least Master's. Haven't decided English Lit, Comparative Lit, ... along those lines.
Still really piqued by your program. I wonder how prevalent that type of program is.
Gonna go visit daughter. BBL.
Lash - they have locations all over. It's Lesley University. They seem to specialize in education - teacher's degrees, admin, literacy, etc. They also have an environmental degree (I thought about doing that).
I find it hard to believe that you have a bachelors degree. You seem incredibly well-reasoned (even when I don't agree with you) and well-spoken.
littlek, I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that this all will go according to plan. If not, you might want to consider I'm looking for another gardener this spring...
I'm glad you told CJ to look back, Gus, because when I did I realized I hadn't seen that post either!
Greenwitch - You are!?!?! Oho, that sounds like fun!
I might be interested in that gardening position.
The race is on, k.
<squinting eyes at Gus>
All you know how to plant are hostas!
<squints back and shakes a daylily in k's direction>
Where'd ya get that daylily? The flower store?
I could put Gus in charge of hole digging and you could supervise him littlek.
Awright, littlek! That's great news about getting in. I'll keep fingers and toes crossed that your group comes together soon.
Oh! I'm so glad the letter finally came!
Of course, we knew it would. Who could turn down an application letter like that?!
Okay now, littlek...you are going to have to seriously consider revising the name of this thread.
(((((BIG HUG!)))))

A sort of modern day "God's Little Acre"
Greenwitch - that sounds like fun!
I think I'll start a new thread on actually doing the school thing - like craven did.
