Let's think fall perhaps, the hills will be great and the weather more stable, what do you think?

That sounds like a good idea. It's not too close to the other one.

Yes, you have a point, ladies. I agree. Though summer lasts thru October in Houston Rolling Eyes, when does it cool off in Austin?

c.i. - I have noted your request. Very Happy I'll keep you posted.

Laughing Ha! When does it cool off in Austin........ummmmmmm, November. You just have to go with the weather. The good points in having a gathering in Austin in the summer, is that there are wonderful places to meet. You bet you sweat, but the lakes and hills are beautiful!

I still vote for the 3rd weekend in October, Friday thru Monday would be Oct 18 - Oct 21. My most favorite time period in the entire year. Smile

It is a lovely time period in Austin in October. It's my favorite too, BillW. But then again, if we met in July or August, we could go rafting in the rivers. That's so much fun! Drink beer and stay wet.

I'm sorry to say that the weekend of 10/18-10/21 contains two family birthdays. I would not be able to get out of town that weekend. Any chance for a compromise, BillW?

I got published at...

Bartcop

...today. Click above and scroll down about three-quarters, until you see the section on Susan McDougal's book-signing in Houston. That's my e-mail to bart that you'll see there.

And if you live in or near D-FW, you simply need to go hear this woman on Wednesday, this week, at the Borders on Preston.

Okay, fellow Texans, I'm going to Austin this weekend, and will scope out hotel possibilities. I'm getting a good weekend rate at Extended Stay America, and I'll see if they offer group rates, too.

Max and I will finally meet - after nearly two years of Abuzz and A2K movie trivia, I thought it was about time!!!
