Most of us are familiar with images of this part of the country, already. However, I will be posting photos here during the next several days.

About four months ago, my daughter took four of our grandchildren and she and her husband moved to Aurora, which is about a half hour drive from Denver's airport. She sent us tickets to fly up there, so that's what we did. We went on one of those Continental torture chambers they call a plane, made good time, and were quickly on the ground. We found the airport confusing and caused our daughter to drive around the loop a number of times, before we were able to fetch our luggage and find the pick up spot.

They have a nice townhouse on a cul de sac. The first day we did little, and the second, Christmas Day, it snowed from dusk til dawn. We visited and watched television, mostly. Next day, we went to the Buffalo Bill museum. It had been our intent to also go to Pike's Peak, but, time limitations scotched that.

Next day, it snowed from dusk to dawn again. Friday, we went back in the mountains, a little deeper than the BBM. Later, at home, we sledded and played with the children. Woke up at 3:30 AM to go back to the airport. More later.

Oh does that photo bring back memories. I went to school in the Denver area in the mid 70s.

Thank you for posting it.

Haven't been to Colorado since 1957, though that was a wonderful time.

Show us what you see, EB.

I've been to Denver just for one day last year .... oops, two years ago, in 2006 ... and to Colorado with dys before that.

I like it, and it really most be very nice in winter.

Thanks, Edgar, for starting this thread!
(Btw: I liked the airport there, but it took ages to drive downtown.)

I've been to the Denver Airport in recent years, but never mind.

My memories are of my parents and of course me towing a pontiac with another pontiac across Berthoud (sp) Pass in 1955....

But also traversing there later, 1959 (I lied, I guess, it was '59, not '57), with a film crew. That was more fun.

We took lots of pics at the Buffalo Bill museum. I haven't scanned many of them yet.

Good that you a a good time, Edgar. I sure hope you didn't hit that fence at the bottom of the sled run.

My son in law went to the high part of the street, ignoring my warning that none of the snow there was packed down. He took off with the sled and nose dived. His face made contact with the pavement. Result: One busted lower lip and a sore jaw.

I had intended to post more, this evening. But, I left all those pics at work, through forgetfulness.

Nice photos, EdgarB.

I was only in Denver once, very briefly, scrambling through the airport, to get to an A2K get-together in Tucson.

The view coming in was spectacular and I thought I'd like to see Denver itself someday.

It looks like it would just get better if you spent more time there (if you can manage the altitude).
