Hi Cobalt! Glad you're having a good time with John. Drive safely and tell all as soon as you can.
Heyas to all! Am in Austin driving around looking for Antone's, but I think I am only 20 blocks away now, ha ha!
The graduation was one of the most impressive things Ive ever seen in my life! It was priceless to spend this time with my son and his friends. As a lifelong anti-war protester, it was quite the mixed feelings to spend two days in and on a major military base. I can tell you that I was impressed with the entire AF operation - base, people, training, professionalism - it really was inspiring!
Now, the next time I am on a picket line, I will be wearing my new tshirt with "Proud Mom of an Air Force Airman" shirt and the "parent pin"!
Will start a thread about this subject more detail maybe Sunday. Finally got to a Kinko's to post - I had a great long post for you all yesterday but the cheesy Net phone booth lost it as I clicked Send! Yipes!
All for now - will see Lola tomorrow and we had a great time on the phone tonight and thanks to mac11 for posting for me. I'll see BillW on MOnday night maybe? On the road for the night, but it is glorious weather here and the world is out walking around!
Peace, Love and Hugs,
cobalt

excellent photos! Thanks for sharing them, cobalt.
Cobalt, sweetie, you look good and soooo proud! Sure wish I could see you again at the Texas gathering.
The photos are wonderful. That graduating class looks huge--how many were there?
Ya'll want me to call Sam Hill's? Think it would be fun, but it is on the lakes..............Or we could make it simple and meet at Spagetti Warehouse on the west side of 6th streetr?
Maybe the Spaghetti Warehouse will be easier for the 7/25 mini-gathering. What do you think? I don't have a clue where "the west side of 6th St." is in relation to anything. Will we be able to find it ok? Is it going to be hard to get a table on a Friday night?
The Spaghetti Warehouse sounds good to me. It's been awhile since I've been there, but you do get a ton of food for the money and it's always been really good. I like the atmosphere and it's also within walking distance of the Texas State Capitol building.
That sounds good then, sinkerhawk. Centrally located and all. What do you think BillW? You started this mini-gathering...
By the way, according to Yahoo.com, here's what I found:
Spaghetti Warehouse
117 W 4th St
Austin, TX 78701
(512) 476-4069
Is 4th Street correct? (Sorry max, for checking up on you...)
Is it too soon to get a head count for the 7/25 mini-gathering?
I'm in sounds great!

Time - from 6-9 pm or there abouts?
If anyone knows how to get in touch with MaryCat, we haven't heard from her in a while. I've wanted to meet from for many a year!
Sounds like a great time frame to me!
Time for a preliminary head count, I think. (This is for dinner at The Spaghetti Warehouse in Austin on 7/25 from 6pm-9pm.)
BillW + ?

max?
sinkerhawk?
marycat?
Who else is thinking about joining us?
Does anyone know if Spag. Warehouse takes reservations?
mac11: I was just in Austin and saw the Spahetti Warehouse there on 5th street I think, not Sixth. It's about three blocks up from Lavaca and 5th, on a corner and seems large enough to seat about 250 at a time. However, my brief visit tells me that reservations are important and also getting there early enough to find parking! I'd suggest the parking lot at the Banc One on the corner of Fifth and Lavaca - $5.00. Don't even think that you can find free parking anywhere within 12 blocks...
Suggest all making time to enjoy the street party for the next three hours after you eat! I had the most grand time going from door to door of the joints and listening to the great variety of live bands playing there. Also there was a great deal of "free" music on the streets from the street musicians playing for tips and bands that played in courtyards and from the rooftops! Will think of more places in the blocks nearby to check out for y'all...
Thanks for the info, cobalt...
Spagetti Warehouse is fine with me
I'm helping a friend move furniture on the 26th, so I could use the carbo boost.
Count me in.
I'll call them today and see if they take reservations.
Unless of course someone else has already done this?
Please do, sinker. It would be good to know.
