Why did Charles ever choose Camilla over Diana?

Odd, isn't it, that Diana's Official Version of Her Marriage is coupled with the Unofficial Speculation about her Tragic Death?

Archtypes are powerful, whether true or false.

IMO Charles and Camilla have always had a thing going on between them
but Camilla was obviously not the 'appropriate' wife at that time for the future King of England...so hence Diana came into the picture, regardless of her immaturity at that time, she eventually came into her own over the years, while Charles was still having relations with Camilla the other woman, just like his forefathers had done previously with their mistresses, before him.

So today Diana has gone, his sons are growing up and becoming independent and he finally has married his long time love....so what, who cares they are both of mature age now.

Hey girl!

Nice to see you!

I do miss hearing about Diana though. She was always in the news doing something good. A lot of people were much better off for having known her I believe.

Hey Angel, looking good there girl! LOL
I liked Diana as well, she was a breath of fresh air to the British Monarchy at that time, when they all looked alike!

The Royal Family may or may not have treated Diana fairly--I don't know.

I'm sure that she selected her blabbermouth lovers all by herself. She was not a good judge of men.

No I agree, but obviously they were the only ones who could get close to her at that time, without the media knowing

KiwiChic--

Remember, Diana was notorious for notifying Fleet Street about "private" plans.

I hardly think that a newspaper hack was attached to every good and decent man in the British Isles, just in case they became involved with royal dalliance.

I hate the fact that any of those guys would exploit their relationship with her. I am sure she trusted them and they stab her in the back.

She was probably just looking for the love and acceptance she obviously didn't feel she was getting from home.

Yes, very unfortunate, just vultures out to get what they can.
Even after she has gone they still pick away... Sad

All the same, for a woman who prided herself on being able to manipulate the media both for herself and against the House of Windsor, she was remarkably naive.

Her leaked-but-published notion that the Queen should abdicate and that Charles should abdicate and that she would guide William on the throne was a little peculiar.

There are over 25,000 posts on just the yahoo message boards that are talking about Diana, in an intelligent fashion. A2K board may wish to denigrate her (some of you) or ask why a discussion is even relevant. If any of you are really interested in the life of Diana and the good things she did while alive you may want to check out the other message boards that really discuss Diana, Camilla and Charles and don't insult other people while doing it. I'm sorry, but I don't find these posts relevant at all. Diana's beauty and grace will always be remembered. The fact that she got a frog rather than a prince is now Camilla's problem. So, some of you asked, why do I have an interest in Diana, et al? Better you should ask the other 25,000+ people on yahoo.

I'll do so - but only after I've finished to ask those x-thousands, who are in the various boards concerned with Elsabeth ("Sissy") of Austria [1837-1898] ...

that's exactly what I mean. more intelligent responses. my point was that while most of you don't find her interesting (sure are a lot of people viewing the topic, tho) many others do. So...if you don't find her interesting, why are you here?
