After eating sausages in batter and chips instead of my usual treat of a chinese takeaway I have decided to go to the gym tonight and tomorrow night.hahahaha no ...really...Im gona do it..hahaha.
When do you guys weigh yourselves.I can put on 6lbs in a day.yesterday I was 12stone 4lbs in the morning then n the afternoon I was 12stone 10lbs.
Whens the best time to do it?
Weigh yourself first thing in the morning and write it down.
This morning's report for Joe (larger then life) Nation 232.6
Can he do 200.00 by Tax Day? Going to lose a bet.

That's an early post, Joe!
I survived the weekend, following a killing session on my legs with personal trainer on Thursday. Rest Friday. 10km run in Hyde Park with friend on Saturday.
I've been v. careful with my food and I'm waiting a couple more days before weighing, so I can see a noticeable difference - I hope! Keeping a food diary really is a motivator - writing down every thing I eat makes me think, hard - "do I want this enough to write it down?" - I'll be showing the diary to my trainer next Sunday. I don't want any slips into fat foods before then!

Ive bought packs of raisons so I can snack on those instead of crisps etc.
Tho I find it tough to actually open the packet.I think I need to start weight training, what do you suggest?
Mr. Scale said 173 this morning.
Musta been all that snow shoveling.
KP - sounds like going to confession.
"Bless me trainer for I have munched."
i HATE raisins by now - I can't stand the sight of them. Am going to get unsweetened apple sauce today, of which you can eat any quantity, and I just love it. I gave in to some chocolate yesterday while watching Sense and Sensibility - perfectly justifiable, i think. i've been bad for the first time in more than two weeks. better than usual. back on track today, after a weekend of not moving a goddamn inch.
Hearty congrats to Dag for her 10 lb loss!!
I found them unfortunately - do you want them back?
Weight this morning, 127 pounds. My 45th college reunion is in June and I'd like to weigh in the neighborhood of 110.
Last night I had only one nightcap.
Breakfast this morning was Spartan.
I fed the last of the Christmas cookies to the dog--and deserve some credit for still having Christmas cookies.
By Groundhog's Day/Candlemas Day, I'll be halfway through the winter and on track.
Four months. Fifteen-twenty pounds. Entirely possible.
Went to the gym last night wearing 3 tops for maximum sweatage(yuck).I weighed myself afterwards and I weighed 4lbs more than I did last time(now 174lbs) I weighed myself there.I am not a happy bunny.
I also started on my raisons,a pleasent alternative to junk food and im going shopping tonight to look at healthy lunches.
What the.. 233.00.... the weekend expansion continues to affect....

Very pleased today - and slightly amazed.
I weighed myself this morning and I'm showing a loss of 2.9kg (over 6lbs) since last Tuesday's weigh-in.
Keeping a food diary clearly helps - as does a fair amount of exercise.
Dominion is firmly held - I wish you all the same sense of progress!
Now, to see if I can keep up the trend until I've lost 30lbs!

Well done kitchenpete!!
Had an idea of putting humous in pitta bread wraps but Ive just been told humous is really fatty.
Any other filling suggestions.
material girl
You can make hummus very easily with much less fat, if you have a food processor.
1 can chick peas (garbanzo beans)
1/3 jar of tahini (sesame seed paste - available at most supermarkets in the UK)
2 cloves garlic
Juice of 1 lemon
Cayenne pepper, salt, pepper
So - you blend the garlic, chick peas and tahini together until relatively smooth. Add the juice of the lemon.
Normally you would supply the rest of the liquids needed by using olive oil - you can add a splash for flavour but try to thin the mix down with water instead. Not quite as creamy but MUCH less fattening.
Cayenne (or other spices) and salt & pepper to taste. If you leave it in the fridge, it will firm up, so go for a fairly sloppy consistency when made - the chick peas absorb the water.
Good luck - I hope that helps.

Thank you.
I really need to learn how to cook.May go on a course with a pal.
also, the fats from the tahini are monosaturated fats so they're good for you.

Me too. I've just topped out at 180 and my bp goes up along with my weight so I'm back on full scale alert.
Annual checkup today so I'll be fasting until mid-afternoon. I need to eat something sensible afterwards. The above mentioned hummus and pita sounds good.
More snow is predicted. Would that the drifts were between me and the refrigerator.
I watched The Fly yesterday,Jeff Goldblum said 'Im turning into a 185lbs fly'.I cant believe Im only a stone less heavy than that fine specimin of a man.I wouldnt mind if I looked like a female version of him.
Bought some peppers, cherry tomatoes, pesto sauce and cheese yesterday to make roasted peppers, had to ask a friend how long itl take to cook but at least Im heading in the right direction.
A better day yesterday. 231.6.
Tried to focus yesterday on how hungry I was opposed to say a tsunami victim. "This isn't hunger, this is hunger pangs."
Also back to yoga, morning and night.
Joe
Arghh!
Back up to 175.
Need to put in some cardio today.
Joe, excellent reflection.
Another way to battle hunger pangs -- often, the sensation that we
attribute to hunger is actually thirst. Stay hydrated.
