Weighed in at 173 this AM. This moves my BMI from "overweight"
to "normal". Right at the upper end of normal, but normal.

Did four miles at lunch yesterday, mostly through parking lots.
Today, some upper body work -- it's snowy and sloppy outside.

Great job George. Do you have a target you're shooting for?

I'm at 172.5 today - down 1.5 from yesterday and one from last week's low on Friday. Things seem to be working well this week.

cardio sprints on the treadmill and biceps/triceps with weights today.

Thanks, J_B, you're no slouch yourself.
I'd like to be about 165 and have my size
34 pants feel just a little loose.

That's about where I want to be too. I'd like to get down to the 162 - 163 range but I'll be happy anywhere at or below 165. Actually, I'm happy as soon as I'm out of the 170s but I flucuate quite a bit so I like the extra buffer.

My 177 weighin on Monday put me at the same spot on the BMI chart so I must be about an inch taller than you (6' even)

oops, I meant 165 or less above. Just changed it...

I'm probably shrinking too but I haven't checked 'cuz I don't want to know. Sometimes I prefer to keep my head in the sand.

Bad enough my shrinking, but Younger Son is now taller than his dad.
(Still worse, he's got the fat-to-lean ratio of a greyhound.)

With my height my girls would shoot me if they grew taller than me. DD1 is 14 and has probably topped out at 5'5". DD2 is only 12 and is already 5'10" and getting very nervous about any additional height.

You're son can gloat now, his time will come.

Back up to 175 freakin' pounds.
No mystery why: pizza, bagels, assorted chub food during weekend party
and Patriot's playoff game.
Awright, suck it up and get back to work!

Dagmar: way to go, girl. Transmit some of that willpower to me.

Dagmarka--

I'm wildly jealous of you. My fury should melt a few more pounds for you.

Today I've been Very Good--but the dark is closing in and the wind outside is howling.

Noddy, if it won't work for me, it will work for you! the fury must burn a few calories. still being good, determined to stay on course as long as it takes. which also means avoid drinking altogether, which is slightly annoying every now and then. i violated that once - went out with littlek for 3 beers, and what do you know, next day i was 3 pounds up! very disheartening. but those are gone now. for good. they ain't coming back ever. after 10 days or so of eating super healthy and super little i discovered so many new tastes in things i considered bland and uninteresting before. apple is like a sweet dream right now. i hope i can keep that up!

Dak--

You're right about The Drink. In this Winter of Our Discontent a nightcap helps the local harmony level, but not the waistline.

well, maintaining the Fragile Balance is often more important than the waistline, or the lack thereof. but the Skirt Time is approaching rapidly, even if it doesn't seem like it now (temperature's in the single digits tonight!)

Dag--

I can beat you. What with Wind Chill the world outside my windows has been below Zero all day. Furthermore, the glacier on the next mountain is advancing. I'll try to post before we lose power.

Seriously, thanks for the understanding.--although I still envy you to the point where I may emulate you.

I'm glad to hear someone has been doing well. I haven't weighed since the weekend because I just don't want to know. I'll be back at it soon, er, yeah soon.

Ladies and gentlemen, I've still got it! Finally got to the gym (albeit at 9pm), and did an hour on eliptical, burnt some 700 calories according to the dumb machine, average heartrate 155. Not bad, considering that when i first got to the gym it would be up in the 170s often. then did a few rounds on the weight machines, resisted urge to eat everything in sight, instead i'm sipping tea in a very disciplined and lady-like manner. see?
