Hey Joe
Good to have you back. I'm looking at vacation in another week and I imagine I'll put a few on also.
Congratulations on getting right down to business afterwards, tho.

Ahh, lazy days with a good book! Onee of the best vacations I have spent was when we rented a place in No. Conway, NH and it rained for days. It forced me to kick back and relax. Did a lot of reading, played board games with the kids and just generally goofed off.

Thanks for your support, guys! Very Happy

Cool letters, ehBeth - where did you get them?

Joe - sometimes you need a break but you're winning the war, if not every battle! Glad you had a good vacation.

Joe--

You deserved a break both from Real Life and The Diet. Easy come, easy go--those holiday souvenirs will melt on the Big Apple asphalt.

Hold your dominion.

Well done Eoeo and Eva, glad to see you enjoyed your vacation Joe.

KP as trailblazer for the a2K triathlete team-maybe we could enter a team next year ?- all the best, seems like the training is going fine.

I have my OP next week and then just watch me-I intend to convalesce and then have a good winter before reappearing as Super Hiama-Triathlete-Super Vet variety !!

I'll be watching the London on the box-I think BBC show it on Grandstand.

Noddy if they cut my dominion out by mistake, will it grow back ?

Dang!
Ortho surgeon says I've got a tear in the "supraspinatus tendon". Choice: adapt to not lifting my left arm very high or go under the knife. Thank God for leg sports!

Hiama--

I'm not sure whether your notions of geography or anatomy are more confused. Fortunately, the surgeon knows and you'll be up and at 'em in the very near future.

Keep holding.

Wow! Go KPete!

I felt I'd been living very healthily lately, and feeling better than I had in a couple of years.

Then the crunch!
Have the pathology done, visit the quack.

Blood levels are all over the shop. Blood pressure is up! Buggar!
I've sunken into a disconsolate state!
And I have to go through it all again in a month! Sad Mad

Hiama - fingers crossed for you!

Welcome, justone--

Everyone on this thread is slimming--or firming up. We'll listen while you plan or boast or mourn. One contingent is composed of remarkably athletic people. Others are happy sluggards.

You'll fit in.

KP-best of luck in the London Triathlon tomorrow mate-let us know how you get on-my OP was cancelled on Wedneday-NO BEDS-typical British NHS-have to wait for a letter to tell me when they are going to cancel the next OP !

Noddy, Is it any wonder I keep losing me dominion ?

Ah there it is, Hiama puts it back in and tells it not to be so silly

Sorry to hear that you'll have to wait even longer to get back your dominion.

I'm nearly there for the triathlon. Saturday I register and drop off the bike. Sunday afternoon I'll be in the docks from about 1pm, then bike to Big Ben and back, twice, followed by the run around the docklands area. I hope it's not too hot - I'm better in cooler conditions!

Thanks for all your support along the way, a2k'ers. It's been a real help. I'll report back next week, when movement has returned to my limbs!

W.S. remarked: "Sweet are the uses of adversity." Of course, he was a poet, not an athlete. Could ownership of The Bard balance ownership of National Health?

Kitchen Pete--

I'll be cheering--for you and against Global Warming.

Go, KP, Go!!! We're rooting for you!

Okay, for all you numbers people...I went to the doctor today. My blood sugar level is down to 101 (very good), and my triglycerides are down to a similarly good level. Overall cholesterol is 150. And best of all, I have lost a lot of weight. A LOT. This South Beach diet has really worked. I've lost the weight I put on with the steroid therapy in April PLUS 25 lbs.!

I am being very good today. Low-carb yogurt for breakfast, whole wheat tortilla with fajita chicken strips and black bean salad for lunch.

Eva--

Marvelous! You must be physically and figuratively floating (although anchored spiritually).

Are you finished with austerity? Or do you plan to melt more solid flesh?

Congratulations!
