JPB, how's your back? Did the chiropractor help?

I was practically saintly while I was out of town this past week. Being away from home base and eating at restaurants three meals a day for seven days straight had me in a panic. I was hungry a lot, which is not a good thing.

Anyway, my home scale looked good this morning. (Tied my lowest number.) The scale that counts will be at my Wednesday meeting.

I'm hanging in there, mac. Thanks for asking. Still spasming somewhat but not as debilitating as before.

Here's hoping the weighin will be another loss!

I've gone seven consecutive days with poundage under 170.
Today's my natal day, so I'm cutting myself major slack.

HAPPY NATAL DAY, George!

Today is my daughter's natal day too. We'll be celebrating with slack as well.

Happy birthday, George!! (And JPB's daughter!)

Yikes about the back spasms, JPB. Glad it's eased up a bit.

I was out of town too and it's a mixed bag, exercise-wise. I never got to use the hotel's exercise room, which I'd wanted to do -- no time. But I did stuff like walk for miles at the zoo, including a pretty long sprint when we were trapped out in the rain, and was generally pretty active. I think I'm roughly where I was when I left (about a week ago) but haven't made further progress.

Looking forward to getting back into the gym routine!

I've decided to try to see where the pedometer leads

the walking site - 10,000 steps

I'm going to add their 12 week program to my everyday walking routine

at worst, it'll be extra walking

at best, it'll be an improved level of fitness

Pedometers can be bad, I got one and realsed i only walked a few hundred seps a day, nowhere near the thousands!!
But pedometers are well worth having.

I weighed myself yesterday morning at 11 stone 2lbs, about 156lbs which is alot less that usual, went out and walked round most of the day, came home, ate loads, weighed myself again and I weighed even less!!
Im liking the scales at the moment.

Have to admit Im still pigging out on snacks every now and again, but maybe my changing of my lunch has helped and having baked crisps, eating more fruit and veg is helping.

I'm glad to hear that the scale is moving in the right direction for you, mg.

It is for me too. I weighed in on Wednesday at 176.4, for a total loss of 113. Very Happy

The girl is absolutely amazing!

I weigh exactly the same, mac. Maybe you'll inspire me to pay closer attention. Particularly since I'm not getting any exercise at the moment.

The gym-mom swap thing is working well, but today is a gray drizzly day and we've been meeting at the pool and it's NOT a pool day and I almost canceled -- but we arranged to meet somewhere else and going ahead as planned. I'm really not in the mood just now (will make a rather busy day much busier) but I know I'll be happy about it after I work out.

Great goin', mac.

Checking in at 4014 steps right now.

I should start putting the thing on once I have clothes on, instead of when I'm ready to leave the house.

I worked out, I'm happy about it. Kids had a great time. Glad I pushed myself.

MG we weigh the same. Are you actually dieting or just trying to "be healthy"?

Thanks all.

JPB, you may weigh the same, but as I recall, you're notably taller than me! (Which means that your goal is probably closer than mine.)

Bethie, you should definitely put the gizmo on as soon as there are clothes to clip it to. You don't want to miss out on all those running-around-the-house-getting-ready-for-work steps.

I'm glad you went ahead with the workout plans, soz. What did the kids do instead of the pool?

Here's a run I'm looking forward to:
on July 16, I'm meeting Joe (the Legend) Nation at Columbus Circle for
an early morning (5:33 -- Joe wakes the roosters up) run through Central
Park.

I enjoyed the B-Day festivities and managed to stay sub-170. Now the
Fourth of July cookouts loom large. Seems like there's no end to
temptation!

I somehow lost track of this thread--I probably deleted an update notice before I'd updated myself.

Celebrating the 1st of July, I weighed and measured myself. Weight is still at 116 in spite of two days of swinish gobbling. Measurements are a little smaller. Good intentions are at full strength--more in terms of tightening flab than peeling pounds.

Sozobe--

I'm glad the kid-sitting is working out. Bairns are a blessing, but they can be a blessing unconnected with self-improvement.

Mac--

Congratulations for negotiating the meals-away-from-home temptations.

EhBeth--

AARP gave me a step pedometer for renewing my membership. One project for today is figuring out how it works. I know I'll be lucky to rack up 1000 steps unless I change my ways.

How is Brenda doing?

Osso--

Doesn't wasting away give you a feeling of quiet triumph? Also, I've re-discovered this summer that the thinner I am, the less I sweat in the summer heat.

Material Girl--

Life style changes work--slowly, but they work.

George--

You're in the Big Apple?
