...but being interrupted in mid-bustle breeds festering frustration.

Meanwhile, the stretching exercises are accomplished. Now for the toning exercises.

Weekly checkins are set for Wednesdays. The overall goal is 9 lbs in 4 weeks. I'm down three so far this week and I'm more than motivated to maintain or improve on this number for tomorrow's first week tally.

That's awesome. Congrats and rock on :-D

Thanks, Montana.

Week one -- Four down, five to go. My clothes will start fitting comfortably when I lose another two or three lbs, which will hopefully be in another week or so.

Soz, how'd your workout go?

I was down 1.4 at today's weigh-in. Whew, that's a relief.

I know that all the walking in NY offset the calories, but there were two unfortunate eating situations the last couple of days where I had no choice but to eat small amounts of lasagna and pizza or be hungry. Imagine what I'd have weighed without those.

So I'm now at 177, down a total of 112.4 . Very Happy

Next week I have a four day business trip and a three day family reunion. That will be a challenge.

mac11's totally inspirational. brendalee continued to eat well (til the airport fiasco, when there was a bit of an incident with potato chips and mayonnaise Confused ) - and seems to have lost 2 - 3 pounds over the 6 days (weigh-in Thursday). Best of all, her fitness level is significantly better than when she dropped out of bellydance classes a few months ago.

For a reason best left shrouded she determined that I've got a very muscular tushie now - walking and shimmying are good for muscle-y tushes Laughing

Yay JPB and mac and Brendalee and everyone!

My workout went great, JPB, thanks for asking! This arrangement is going pretty well. Still some kinks -- we'd set up a certain time, but then gym mom enrolled her kids in a new camp last-minute so we had to change the time, which didn't work for the first day we had planned, so we did it the next day instead, etc. I love that it's win-win, though -- we both benefit from the arrangement, nobody's doing anyone any big favors, and the kids have a great time together.

Yes, I think the shroud is a fine idea. But I can't believe that I forgot to ask for a demonstration! It would have been perfect in Central Park. Near the ball field perhaps?

Bethie, please tell Miss Brendalee how proud I am of her. I'm sure the chip & mayo incident was only a minor setback. She wanted to send me some info about a theatre friend of hers thru you - can't remember any more details though...

This was from April 10, 2006.

I started out in mid December at 186, not quite the highest my weight has ever been but near there. I'm 5-5 1/2, so that's right up there in pudge city. This morning I'm at 173. I'm happy with that amount of loss as I don't trust fast weight loss. I haven't exactly dieted - more that my life has done flippidies, and I've just ended up eating less.

I still don't have my own refrigerator in place here in my new house (don't ask) and am using Dys and Diane's patio refrigerator. This is constraining, but will pass. I don't think it makes my weight unnaturally low though, since when I do have a refrigerator, I keep fresh veggies and fruit in there.

To lose any more weight - the only way I ever lose and keep it off - I'm going to have to get my body out and doing walkabout. OK, that's the plan. My goal is to get down to 150 eventually, but for now my goal is 160. Shooting for September.

First from 186 to 173, relatively fast, and now down to 163. Lessee, April 06 to June 07, a mere 0.71 lbs a month. That's ok with me, I like slow, no big surprises to my bod. I eat somewhat less bread, and have cut way down to almost nothing on dessert, though I still put away the chocolate milk, and still eat the occasional rich chocolate candy bar, say 2x a month. I'm still not doing enough walking, but I've been gardening.

Delight for Mac for sure. Among the many good things about the way you've done it, Mac, is the getting used to it all, a gradual and sustaining reacquaintance with having less pounds. You look really healthy; I am very happy for you.

(Thanks, George and JPB - we'll see where I am in another year...) Thinking, erm, 152?

Thanks JPB and osso.

Osso, you're doing it the slow and steady way too. It just has to be healthier and more likely to last, it seems to me. (152? really?)

Clothes are DEFINITELY fittin' better. Whoo-hoo!

I get weighed and measured at the gym next week, so will know something more definite then. I expect weight won't have changed much (fat->muscle) but measurements will be a bit different.

Good going, Osso. Slow and steady is the way to do it.

Well done to one and all, theres alot of positivity going on!!

Just to go slightly askew..I was having a chat with my boss this morning about sweeteners, he says they are full of chemicals and really bad for you,so I looked at the side effects of whats in the low cal sugar I use and the side effects are horrid!!!
One effect is very noticable(warning, girly talk approcahing)a few months back my monthly visitior really changed!!And not for the better.
This really does coincide with when i first started to use the sugar.
So on reading this new info I went home and threw away my low cal sugar,I have to wait now to see if it effects things in the lady area.

I was expecting there wouldn't be much loss but I wasn't quite expecting a gain. Grr. Not much to crow about with measurements either -- most were exactly the same -- but my hip measurement was about two inches smaller. Yay, smaller butt.

Ah well, it's only been a month since I started in earnest -- I have way more stamina for sure, and everything seems firmer if not actually smaller yet. It's a good start.

The old fat cells got a big refill on Father's Day, so now it's time burn the
butter -- and return to saner food.

The B-Day is coming up soon, so I can't afford to let lard stay on.

Week two -- Up 1.5 and no workouts in sight for quite awhile. Major back spasms yesterday, first time in almost two years. I'm seeing the chiropractor this afternoon. This sucks!
