Mac--

One hundred and one!

Trip to NYC? What about Europe, the Far East and Antarctica?

NYC is definitely a treat you deserve. Unlike the obese of this world, you've earned some monumental indulgence.

Great! And it's good timining, too. In the New York thread, Blatham just announced he wants to arrange "breakfast at a famous New York jewellry store". He'll need an Audrey Hepburn type like yourself to get the style just right.

Got this in an email...

Quote:
Jim was in trouble.
He forgot his wedding anniversary.
His wife was angry.
She told him, "Tomorrow morning, I expect to find a gift in the driveway that goes from 0 to 200 in 6 seconds. IT BETTER BE THERE!"
The next morning Jim got up early and left for work. When his wife woke up, she looked out the window and sure enough, there was a box gift-wrapped in the middle of the driveway.
Confused, the wife put on her robe and ran out to the driveway, and brought the box back in the house.
She opened it and found a brand new bathroom scale.
Jim has been missing since Friday.

mac, I been thinking about the difference in you from when you were here in May. I don't recall where you were precisely on your weight loss trek, but I think it was in the 70ish lb range, right? We have a picture of you from the Chicago gathering on the Announcement thread. Are you willing to post a recent pic?

Sadly, JPB, I am willing but completely unable to post a pic. No camera and no scanner!

Though I need a new printer, and I might as well get one that also scans. When I buy one, I promise to post a photo. Though there's nothing really recent...gotta think about that. I could scan my badge photo from work - finally got a new one as the old one was unrecognizable. There you go - I'll do that before and after thing with my badges when I get a scanner...

You're right about my numbers. I was 75 pounds down when we met in Chicago.

There's nothing new here, but the points are very well-stated.

An old confrere from way back when wrote these words to the tune
of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I just had to share them!

Somewhere down in the kitchen
heaven waits,
there sits a chest full of goodies
chocolate and pizza and cake.

Cookies, cream puffs and candies
are old friends,
now I just live on grapefruit
and a few odds and ends.

A glass of skim milk starts my day
a carrot curl for lunch is all they give me.
This torture goes from morn til night
I get so weak I just can't fight
it's all so I'll be skinny.

Someday down in the kitchen
there I'll be,
I'll die, stuffed and all sticky
and as happy as can be.

If chubby little angels fly
amid the white clouds
well then so can I.

Puglover--

Welcome to A2K and to the Virtual Diet with moral support for the giving and the taking.

Mac--

A plateau at the 100 pound loss mark would be very cruel--but at least you're on the right side of the 100 pound loss.

Any more thoughts about New York in June?

George--

Plan for now through Spring:

Diet:
No eating between meals.
Dinner is normal-sized.
Breakfast + lunch < dinner.

Exercise:
Keep with Joe Nation's marathon prep.
Bug Joe to keep up his log.

Two weeks isn't a plateau, just a hesitation!

Noddy, I'm actively working on NYC in June. Looking at hotels now, flights and theatre tickets next.
