Rae-well done on the weight loss, I have not lost any yet, just firming up what I've got, it will come off though I KNOW it will.

Dags- If they audition for a re-make of Wonder Woman you'll walk the part, If I had done all that you described I would not have the strength left to type this Very Happy

The tooth plot thickens. I had a examination by an oral surgeon on Saturday. After taking numerous x-rays, which involved keeping my head still while in a previously unknown position, the surgery has been scheduled for the 16th May.

Apparently, both my lower wisdom teeth are growin in a horizontal position, but the left one (which is currently giving me problems) has actually started growing downwards !! The surgery cannot be done immediately as there is some residual infection - so I will have to continue with the antibiotics for some more time and see the surgeon again next week.

But - and this takes the cake - what has me worried is that I am told that both my teeth are very close to the nerve which controls my lower lip and tongue, and there are high chances that this nerve might get damaged during the surgery, which might cause loss of feeling in my lower lip and tongue. The surgeon is going to take the only the left tooth out as he says that if the right one is not giving me any problems, then it is a risk not worth taking. He says that only in 1.2 % of the cases there is some damage to the nerve - the feelings usually come back in a matter of weeks, but in some cases it might take months !!!

So if anyone wants to kiss me, and wants me to enjoy it, now is yr chance !!

Did I say that I am scared shitless ???

You will be fine, G!!!!!! They have to tell you these risks! We will be there with you in spirit!

I am sick today - so no exercise. I was really ill on Thursday - maybe I pushed myself a bit much exercise wise on Fri, Sat and Sun, given that - waaaaah. Very sore knee - I will try moving the seat on exercise cycle back.

I can walk with no pain - but cycling hurts. How weird is that!

Debs,

The rule of thumb/toe/leg with setting the bike saddle is to be able to extend your let fully when your heel is on the pedal. Set the seat there. Then when you push with the balls of your feet, there will always be a slight bend in the knee but it will nearly go entirely straight.

I hope it gets better soon.

KP

But then if you have to "advertise" yr horn, then it is not good enuff anyways. Best products get "advertised" by mouth....oops, word of mouth anyways.

oh my, look at the state of the weight loss club. littlek was sick for a week, dlowan busted her knee (i'd try swimming and not cycle for a week or so - you do put pressure on different ligaments than in walking, you must have strained something), and gautam has his teeth growing downwards!!! i hope all will heel in no time. hiama, you must keep up the pace for all!
lots of pity and empathy to all wounded!

I'm inspired by all--particularly Hiama and Dagmaraka.

The end of April is creeping closer and this month I've lost only two pounds. At that rate I will attain my goal in July, 2004--which is better than not ever being thin again, but 15 months is a long way away.

Resolved: More exercise. Less nibbling.

Gautam--

Courage! You are exceptional in so many other ways that any surgical damage is obviously going to happen to someone else. You don't have to join every minority group in all creation.

Hold your dominion.

My friend recommended to me 'Body for Life' program - easy to find online. I am going to try it out, starting today. No starch, eating mostly fiber and lean protein food, and an excercise system that does not take up more than 20 minutes a day (though I will do more, cause I am not contempt with that). Best thing of all - 1 day is vacation - you can eat all you want and do nothing. It is still supposed to make wonders. She is in great shape, so I am prone to believe it. Will report with my experience. Sunny outside, yippeee, am going to fix up one of my rusty old bikes. SO happy when sun is out, it is almost uncontainable!

Dags,

I will be exercising all muscles and my horn, which please note dynamic duo debs and gautam needs no advertising, tomorrow -aiming for 20-30 mins light weights then 30 mins on a hard hilly random program on the treadmill, we'll see

I'll report back then.

Hold thy dominion as someone much sager has already noted-tansk Noddy for the kind words. Debs I agree with dags stay off the knee-swimming would be OK-no stress or you'll bust it open - ouch ouch ouch

What's the point of exercise and eating well?
You just end up dying healthy.
