Oh! Don't worry Gautam, once you get to the surgery it'll be a couple days of delirium and then life goes on. Make sure you have a ride home.....
Or if you do drive...drive extra fast. The faster you drive, the sooner you're home safe on the couch.
-The more you know..
naaaah, we want to keep Gautam.
Yeah, nothing like a little valium & demerol cocktail to dramatically improve your high speed driving skills.
Sozobe--
Who says you can't outrun amorphous potentials? Even if this proves difficult in 2003, you can still ditch your cobwebs and catch up with serenity. Go, girl! Hold your dominion.
Babsatamelia--
How very discouraging. I suspect that your metabolism has decided that famine is just around the corner and will not waste one teeny-tiny carb or any other morsel that can be converted to emergency reserves.
Can you do a little walking. Even ten minute strolls a few times a day might jump-start weight loss?
Let us know what the medical tests come up with. Hold your dominion.
Gautam--
Odin bought wisdom with his right eye. You just have to sacrifice a tooth--a very ungrateful, sullen and brooding tooth.
I'll dither for you until you're back to a normal diet.
Hold your dominion.
I've been away all week so no gym, back tomorrow can't wait must be the withdrawal symptoms kicking in, that adrenaline buzz is calling-I'll report back like a good little boy tomorrow
Noddy-I like the phrase " hold your dominion " will probably copy it unscrupulously several times and sprinkle it around in a knowing and meaningful way throughout the next week or so-thanks
whew! no exercise Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday - but managed a 50 minute walk on Friday evening, and 55 minutes in gym this afternoon - esercise bicycle on hills, weights and elliptical trainer.... my right knee hurts - might just walk tomorrow, which seems not to trouble it...sigh.
Have someone check the height of the bike seat. Most pain comes from a seat that is too low.
J
oh, thanks - but it is one of those recumbent things - does that mean I should put it as far back as possible?
Take it easy debs-off to the gym now-see you later
Hiama--
Pilfer from a pilferer.
The original "hold your dominion" lady was Mary Baker Eddy. "God has given me dominion over the things of this earth and I intend to hold my dominion."
My family quoted scripture for their own purposes, trunciating MBE to make a better battle cry.
Help yourself.
:-( glooooom. drizzly and cold. 46 of them fufufniks that you measure temperature in, certainly not more than some 10 celsius, which is just plain lousy. still sore from jogging and excercising yesterday and the day before though, plus have a whole day of painting ahead. not all is lost in foul weather, i will hold my dominion.
dagmaraka--
Gloom and gray here also. My mantra for the day--and dominion--is, "Candy will not make me feel better and fatty foods will make me feel worse."
Went to the gym, first session for a week :-
Stretches for 10 minutes
30 minutes light weights and machines
60 minutes on treadmill and about 8 pints of seat- including 6 miles in 54 minutes with 6 minutes cool down
back tomorrow-probably 30 mins weights, 4miles on treadmill at a faster lick-we'll see-I'm back !!
Debs-Well done on the walking
Sunday gym session follows:
10 minute stretching
30 mins machines and weights
5000 m rower in 20m 40 secs
10 mins cool down on bike
I feel I'm back into the routine-fingers crossed
HIAMA is putting most of us to shame! You make me tired just reading about your excersize routine.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This weekend: ran up and down Home Depot and Target for 6 hours (! yes, 6 hours). Painted one wall ugly ugly light blue (was supposed to be olive green). Vacuumed about three times the whole house (lots of mud). Raked some more (garden was not taken care of for 7 years. Chopped some trees down with a chainsaw, planted daisies, chammomile, oregano and two plants whose names i forget in english (stokrasky in slovak), spent 2 hours walking around a yard sale, cleaned up after a yard sale (upstair neighbors hosted a multifamily yard sale) - vigorous sweeping- pavement, porch, and whole driveway. weeded out about a million of little maple trees and forsythia, painted a cabinet in the bathroom, washed down bathroom and kitchen. yeah, that's about it.
no time to eat much, when we sat down to dinner i was way too tired. so i ate less than i would eat on a day of not working around a house madly. i can only recommend moving into a new house to everyone as the best workout/dieting routine. and then perhaps having kids, but nah. those you have to grow inside and deliver first, i'll stick with the house for now. will go for a jog tomorrow and try out a new workout video i got at the evil target. yay!
