glad belly dancing was fun, Beth, I'm still thinkin' about it. I'll have to observe one of these days, see how loud the music is. :-))

ha!

I don't think I could have learned the vertical hip drop without my instructor.

What I particular like about Ioanna is that she uses a lot of geometry to explain things. Things I don't understand through watching her shake and shimmy, I understand when she shows a figure 8 with her hands, and then turns it on edge. Ahhhhhh, now I get it. The slide I don't 'get' at first, I get when she talks about 45 degrees. Ahhhhhh.

I'll have worked up the new foot moves by then, and my buttock clenching should be a treat.

Back to 173. Which isn't bad, considering how much beer and food went
down the ol' gullet over the Independence Day weekend. I didn't even
dare to get on the scales until this morning.

Nigel and I continue to be faithful to our regimen. I'm already seeing
improvements in his strength on some of the routines. I wish I had
recorded his starting weight to see whether he's gained any poundage.

Good luck, all!

2 pounds down since Sunday. Too much work - food is the last thing on my mind. I did get a decent workout on Wednesday (theatre show) and today. Next week will be brutal at work, big training, which will result either in more weight loss, or in weight gain, we'll see which. Though stress makes me not be hungry at all.

Not a pound gained, not a pound lost. And from today I have 2 male students to cook dinner for, so how can I resist eating? Sad

You can resist, Clary, because you're strong enough to resist! I believe in you. Just imagine how great it will be if you can get where you want to be.

Ok, all that positive talk is because I'm happy with my scale today. I'm now 85 pounds down. Very Happy

WOWEE, Mac, that's fantastic! I'm so impressed! Won't be able to see you sideways soon!

What was your secret, the one factor you feel really did it for you?

Clary, the moment that tipped me over the edge into action was when I really thought about the phrase "morbidly obese." My fat was killing me. Lots of things were pushing at me to change, but that was a key moment.

If you're asking how I got this far, I've been on Weight Watchers for a little over a year. That, and going to water aerobics three times a week. I have about 45 pounds to go to get to the high end of what is considered a healthy weight for my height. I have no idea what that will look like, but I'm planning to find out.

And thanks, bethie. Too bad blushing doesn't burn any calories!

Thank you, osso. It would have been wiser to not get there in the first place!

Quite right, Joe. How was your run?

I so understand getting there in the first place, completely understand.

I wish for you... long term stability. Thing is, you are quite beautiful and that will become more apparent to many as you lose. So, I wish you equilibration, the exilaration of beauty in oneself, and balance in a fight long engaged. So long, that balance stays simple.

I think you're cool, mac. Whether or not you stay the course, I think you're cool. But I want you to achieve your goal (oh, me, I'd make it ten higher, but ne'er mind), and stay steady for so long that it is entirely natural for you. Natural for years and years.

Ta, they are still in the box tho.Ive had an urge recently to run(my version of running which is a fastwalk).Ive tried before in the 'trainers' i already have but they didnt cushion my feet at all.So I thought if I want to run I at leat need some proper trainers, which I have, now I have to find a nice place to run.
