Does not hurt to miss an occasional session, sometimes it is the rest days when the best work is done, muscles rest, tissues knit and the whole process benefits you.

hiama ~ you've 'seen more meat on a chicken bone'? I love you. You're my bestest friend in the whole wide world.

But, I'm still gonna lose twenty pounds.

I lost another pound. I also bought a pedometer--and I'll undoubtedly burn off several frantic calories trying to set it.

Thanks, Rae. Sensible weight loss is slow and some days I wish I had more vanity and less sense.

You guys need to relax with the scales...don't look at it daily, go month to month, or every couple of weeks. You can easily gain and lose 5 lbs of just water weight pretty quick...especially women.

Hi all,
Been absent for the holiday,..crazy life this "cooking thing".

Anywho,..Thanks for the welcome, it's nice to have a "gym buddy",...thanks hiama!!! Very Happy

Made it through Easter without making a pig of myself Shocked , worked out every day! Very Happy

So onward and upward (or downward,..depending on how ya look at it!! Laughing )

I turn 35 on May 25, hmmm,..feeling the urge to be a few sizes smaller by then (but I'm not going to get nuts about it),...I can look down and see my toes now,..would like to look down and be able to see one more thing Shocked ,..but that'll happen in a few weeks. (Maybe I should get some of those pills they keep offering me in my email Laughing )

Joining a tanning salon tomorrow,..finding that doing things that make me feel and look better, are really great motivation!!

Snoopy--

Not weighing every day was one way that I achieved my present unattractive girth.

I weigh every day, but never count a pound lost until it has been gone for three days.

Unwatched pots, overeat.

Dear me, Noddy!

Ok - I was torpid, exercise-wise, on Saturday - but Sunday walked very fast for 45 minutes and Monday (yesterday here) went to the gym and hill cycled for 40 minutes - and elliptical trainered for 5 - (they closed the gym round me, the beasts!)

Still here, but not here, ya know. I've been devotedly walking to the subway each morning, trying to get off the bus one stop early or late on the ride home, varying the dogs walk each evening. Trying to get back into the lunchtime walk. The weekend was great for doing some gardening - did some weeding, raking, cleaning up from a winter of 'not-treats' left by the dogs and hidden by unexpected snowfalls, then putting down 4 bags of mulch in the front yard. My muscles feel good pain.

I've been thinking about the tanning thing, jerry. I've never tried it, but i was wondering if looking less doughy and pasty might be a good incentive to being less doughy and pasty. Tell me more, tell me more.

Easter Eating and Exercise
I managed to swim on Friday and Sunday (though Friday's session wasn't very energetic!). Lots of walking around in the sun (which we had in SE England for most of the weekend - wonders will never cease!).

Saturday - lots of shifting things about my flat and packing/unpacking in anticipation of decorators coming in.

Monday (a holiday for Brits), I did a number of sprints in the park to encourage a beatiful German shepherd (dog!) which belongs to a friend...quite necessary as lunch had been too delicious to refuse second helpings!

Some yoga/stretching/sit-ups in the evening.

KP,

I used to love Yoga, its strange that I don't have the discipline to do such a graceful and wonderful -searching for a word here-discipline ? yet I can pummel my body in a sort of sado-masochistic way at the gym, well maybe thats it, my secret's out !

Ehbeth-what does good pain feel like ? small o's in the ouches ? as opposed to Ouch Ouch Ouch ?

ahhhhhhhh good pain.
the pain in the hamstrings or whatever from stretching in the garden. the pain in the shoulders/arms from shovelling/digging in the garden. virtuous pain.
bad/useless pain. the pain in the big toe from kicking a rental vehicle in the hindquarters when it wouldn't accelerate as expected (i still get pain in that toe when it rains)
