Joe--

At 11 1/2 minutes a mile you are still a potential for most large predators, but if there are 2000 people who are running more slowly.....

AWRIGHT, Joe!!!

Enjoy your personal victory. What's next Razz

Good efforts all for getting out and about in mid-winter.

Nice job on your bp, Noddy. I've started some guided meditations along with working to get below my weight trigger point. My bp should be back in check in another week or two. I'm sorry to hear about Mr Noddy's frequent use of the local ambulance service, and the anxiety it must bring to you.

I'm doing well today. No exercise but nothing over-the-top foodwise. Only a few hours till bedtime and tomorrow's official weigh-in.

No weight loss this morning, but I'm optimistic about my pre-holiday getaway.

Quite right. You don't have to outrun the bear, just your fellow campers.

Conscience and reasonably comfortable clothing accompanied me to the company Christmas party. Setanta looked snazzy and comfortable as well.

A major bout of dancing was my workout.
The sore muscles prove it.

Slow and steady is winning this race.

Down 4 lbs total last week. I fluctuated throughout the weekend but ended up only 0.5 lbs higher on Monday than Friday - no that's a success!

bp 137/72 <sigh> I think I'll add staying out of the religion forum to my bp recovery plan. I'll worry if I get below 176 and its still elevated.

Down one more pound and my bp has budged, 127/70 this morning. It's an amazing correlation to my weight but I've seen it time and time again. I should see 120ish when I get back down to 175.

J_B--

Progress is always heartening.

I have the nervous nibbles and probably will continue snacking until my plane takes off tomorrow.

Shewolf--

Thanks for the kind words. This Orthopedic Surgeon is conservative and wants me on crutches for another six months (total of two years) until the leg is completely healed. Fortunately I'm down to one crutch--giving me one "free" hand--and in a house on level floors I can cheat and leave the one crutch in a corner.

People are amazingly nice to the handicapped.

Ha!
Differently able, maybe.
You've got that stinger wit that puts you way out front.
They're not being nice to the handicapped, they're protecting themselves.
Ha!

<which is one of the reasons I adore you>

EhBeth--

An appearance of helplessness can be very useful. If that doesn't work, slug 'em with the crutch.

Incidently if you have to face a maniac brandishing a knive and you are armed with a club, aim for the neck. Granted the guy with the knife may not survive, but you will.

I haven't lost weight--still 129--but holding my own as a gastronomic guest who avoided exercise was a laudable accomplishment.

Now, in spite of my nasty cold, I'm climbing on the exercycle for at least ten minutes.

I'd like to be able to start 2006 with a full exercise routine.

O.K. I need to start loosing some of the Christmas cookies I stole from Santa. I am 5"6 and 160. I would love to lose 30 lbs. I guess my goal for now will be 5 lbs by Jan. 10. That sounds reasonable.

Hi Red, welcome to a2k and to our Virtual Weight Loss Club.

I think 5 pounds by 1/10 is reasonable, especially if you don't have a lot of holiday parties to attend over this weekend. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I managed to lose 1.8 pounds over Xmas week, miraculously. I'm down 58 pounds. Woo-hoo!
I gained weight over the holidays and am back up to 140 but I also received a Gold's Gym membership so I'm going to get back in shape after atrophying for a damn year.
