Ok, you're all putting me to shame. It's 67 and cloudy here, perfect weather for walking. I have no excuse and will head out the door for a walk immediately.

I've just completed my own Nutcracker Ballet this year, pursing Mouse King droppings through the kitchen cabinets and drawers.

Living in the woods, close to nature, has a downside.

Well, the left side of your head is very slender, Francis Smile

I need to do a weeklong post Thanksgiving recovery. Mr B's company holiday party is next Saturday and I don't fit into anything in my closet. 7 lbs in 7 days should do it.

Great, Noddy. I'm glad to have your company.

I'm down three pounds today from yesterday, four to go by Saturday. First the water, then the fat....

Ill cheer you on with my pom pom's...

Rah Rah rah!!

My aunt and I were talking over thanksgiving about tips and tricks to slow down how much you eat and how you eat.
She is the one who is battling wieght in proportions we can only imagine.. 500 little weight battles to be precise.. :-(

one tip.. and I did this myself..
put down your fork or spoon as soon as you take a bite.
Dont sit there ' preparing a new bite" as most people do. You loose your focus on what is already in your mouth and according to her nutritionist.. you actually LOSE the ability to taste completely.

And that makes sense to me.
Think about when you are driving and in a hurry... you dont notice the pretty trees, the freaky driver who almost hit you, the flowers, the open sky...
even though it is all right in front of you, you dont see it.. and usually dont remember it.

Another tip..
Use rice,
Have a few cooked cups of rice on hand and have that for a side dish. This is even safe for diabetics.. Rice is very low on the glycemic scale.
It weighs heavy with approx 100 calories per cup.
And one cooked cup of rice is quite a bit!

Drink a glass of water right as you sit down to eat.
Water also weighs the stomach down and makes you feel physically full sooner.

Talk.. talk...talk...talk...
When you are eating with someone.. talk alot.
You cant eat while you are talking and since it takes about 15 minutes for the average persons stomach to FEEL full and done.. stretch out the time between bites and let that satisfation feeling kick in first.

Excellent suggestions, shewolf - thanks!

I'm worried about tomorrow's weigh-in. The lovely long holiday weekend really threw off my usual routines. But I'm trying to stick to the plan today and let tomorrow come. I'll be happy to be past it.

am in boston right now. going to see my old boxing trainer, kostas. friend tells me he's a little jealous of me joining another club in vienna, or well, curious i guess. it's gonna be fun to be back in kostas' garage of pain - garage that he converted into a boxing studio. hoorah.

Congrats on losing last week, Noddy. Any loss is a joy during this time of the year.

I was ok going in to the party, I think I might have rolled out.

We were at the Palmer House Hilton, downtown. We got back to our room around 2:00, went to breakfast at 9:00, picked up the girls at noon, got home and plopped on the couch until pizza arrived at 6:00.

I was shocked by what was on the scale this morning. Sometimes getting a shock is a good thing.... I've already done my morning workout, had a healthy breakfast, and planned out the day's meals to begin to turn things back around.

Also, my 50th bday is in 6 weeks. My goal is to be at my target weight of 168 on my birthday. I've got some work to do to get there and this is a tough season for me to maintain - to say nothing of losing- weight, but I'm motivated and I'm going to make it a priority.

I will be at 168 by January 15th!

I hope you had a fabulous day yesterday, Noddy.

I did well until I went to a meeting last night and someone plunked a giant tray of homemade cookies on the table. I don't normally eat sweets, I have other comsumption vices, but for whatever reason I ate five of the little buggers anyway Evil or Very Mad

Still, I managed to drop a bit yesterday so things are moving in the right direction. I'm not ready to post numbers yet Shocked but progress is progress.

Mr B and I went to the healthclub for a workout this morning. He's good for my ultimate success. He's dedicated to working out daily and guilts me into tagging along. I'd much rather curl up under a blanket and pretend I'm accomplishing something but he keeps me honest.

J-B--

Yesterday was one of the more pleasant birthdays I've had in quite a while, thank you for asking.

There is nothing, nothing, nothing like a Supportive Man--particularly in the long nights of winter when hibernation seems like a good idea.

Shewolf--

Good for you.
