Shewolf--
Thanks for the sympathy.
Joe--
I've been rough-drafting his obituary and nagging him to make little lists of which momentos go to which person.
He's embracing the "Short Life but a Merry One" style.
Maddening.
Bring him to Mumbai. The chances are he'll find most of the food inedible, and embrace with open arms all the things he should be eating. How many people can stomach idli and sambar for breakfast? And it's about 83 degrees with 70% humidity which helps the appetite to shrink...
ME! Me me me me me!!! I can stomach it! I'll take it! with the humidity and all!
Ýes, I like it too! I'm better able to be restrained in the heat = last week in Paris it was freezing and big hot cafes au lait with pains au chocolat irresistible.

You ran 1.1 slower than you walked it?
Five days into my revitalized program and I have GAINED two pounds.
Hunh?
As winter approaches, my appetite seems to be increasing.
Is this some primeval urge to build up a winter layer of fat?
it's muscle, george. all muscle gain, i'm sure.
my jeans are falling off, WEEEEEE :-)
<sorry, i'll take my glee elsewhere>
No, no! We need all the glee we can get.
Congratulations!
I can't imagine your jeans falling off (but I'm working on it).

That's normal -- you're probably building up muscle mass. I would ignore the reading on the scale for the first three weeks of your program; it will only confuse you. Unless your mirror image
looks fatter than it did before you started the program, you're fine.

ok, no other place for me to brag, so you'll have to listen to me here... today at practice i outdid all the boys. at the end of the training we did the dreaded 'pyramid'. you start with one push up, one sit up, one jump, then do two push ups, two sit ups, two jumps....this way up to ten and then from ten back to 1. so you'll end up doing 110 of each, if you don't cheat. well, say a hundred, it's hard to keep up at all times. and i lasted through it all, no one else did. ok, we are all beginners, but at least it means i'm less of a whimp then the rest of them whimps. feeling good about that. feeling nervous as hell from my thursday big presentation, guess it will be a long night ahead...

my dress pants are making a similar escape attempt today
they're going in the Goodwill bag tonight
don't want to be tempted to grow back into them
hoorah for the baggy pants! i couldn't have possibly been filling them all out? impossible. pants be gone.
My closet is starting to look a little empty, so much has gone to Goodwill. It occurred to me today that the few items I've purchased lately will be the big baggy clothes next year.
Congratulations on outlasting all the boys, dag!
Mac--
In your case, less is much, much more.
Congratulations.
dag you are the bomb-110 of each. you go girl.
Dag is so far advanced I no longer consider her a role model--and I am a woman of great imagination.
I can comprehend a peace-keeping boxer, but I have no ability to emulate.
boxing is essential in peace keeping and a useful negotiation skill. trust me.
anyone got a problem with that?!
You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talkin' to?
yeah, i'm talking to you! wanna get acquainted with my left hook, brave man?
