George--
Brutus is right around the corner with your ticket for the Body Farm.
George--
You're so sharp, it's a wonder you don't cut yourself. I yield.
Phew, I thought Id lost this thread.
Sorry but Im here to brag.
The last few days Ive been trying to eat healthily and Ive been to the gym twice this week, really trying to push myself.I weighed myself on the gym scales on monday, no surprises, I was 12stone 1lb(which I have been for the past few months), but I weighed myself yesterday and I was 11stone 13lbs.
Ive lost 2lbs, for the first time in my life ive lost weight. Is this what it feels like!!??
Its a good feeling, so good I just had a baguette with mayo in it,not the best idea in the world but at least I know I can Lose weight as well as put it on!!!
material girl--
Congratulations. Hold your dominion.
yep. and step away from the mayo. no worse feeling than loosing weight and then seeing it all creep back.
i also lost two or three pounds, but am frustrated, for by now it should have been a lot more. though part of it is because i spend 2 hours in the gym everyday and can definitely see my bicepses, quads, and sixpack forming and shaping... i'll give it another week, and then, and then... well i don't know what then. i can't really cut down on food any more and i can't really exercise more. we'll see.
I don't mean to rain on your parade, ladies, but until you lose over 5 lbs, those 2 or 3 pounds mean nothing.
Your body can easily fluctuate 5lbs up and down from water weight alone, and from the bloating you go through monthly.
You could weigh yourself in the morning, then night and be 2 lbs different.
Slappy thats fair enough but it was just nice to see the scales go in a positive direction.
Thank oo vewy much to the nice comments.
Watch out im gona brag again.
My boss and i have been measuring ourselves a swe try out our health kick plan.
He remained constant.
My hips, and i dont know how, have put on 1".
Gut has lost 1/2" and my waist has lost 1" !!!!!Hoorah
But yuor quite right, Il try to stay away from the mayo.
Tape measure is a much better way of seeing results than the scale....especially if you're lifting weights. Unless you have access to measure your bodyfat %.

Dag, you know it's impossible for me to go quietly.
tape measure, tape measure... now to get one of those somewhere...
2 hours every day?! Unless you're spending most of it waiting for a free treadmill, there's no way that can't have an effect.
This is really making me want to join a gym already. I loved it when I was in great shape. Not terrible now, so not great.

I thought you carried one in your purse on every first date...you know, part of the "pre-qualifying" process?
If you weigh on the same scales, wearing the same clothing--or no clothing--at the same time every day, a two pound weight loss is significant.
material girl--
Congratulations.
So we went away for the weekend...I weighed myself on my in-laws scales and whoa! Could it be? I didn't believe what it said. They have two sets of scales so I checked out the other ones...read the same thing...seems my scales at home are 4 pounds heavy!!!!
A pleasant surprise
We're back from jazz fest in New Orleans and it was fabulous. The food was great, the drinks flowed, the music was amazing. Did I mention the food and drinks? We ate and drank, and ate, and ate, and ate and drank, and ate some more. Schedules were whacked - dinner at 10:00 followed by drinks until ????. Saturday night was the whackiest of all. We got to bed around 2:30 and had to get up at 4:30 to pack and leave for the airport by 5:30. I'm usually lights out by 10:00 pm so this was a weekend like I haven't seen in about 30 years. What a blast!
This morning's weigh-in was a little scary, but considering what I did to my body over the last 5 days, it wasn't all that bad. I'll be 'on the plan' this week and next and will hopefully be back to 170 by the end of next week.
I'm full of Monday morning optimism. Weight this morning, 129--and that is my morning weight freighted with good resolutions.
Monday and optimism seldom go together for me.
But...
Down a pound from this time last week.
A hopeful sign?
