Baldimo, I see you are back, two posters want to know, when you asked me if I felt the same toward my children as their father does and I asked in what way, you never answered. So in what way did you mean and why are you avoiding the question?

I'm only surprised it took so long for the smearing of Cindy Sheehan to begin. They're off their game these days obviously. Smearing critics is what the Bush Administration and the Republicans do these days. No effort is made to engage in a debate on the issues, just smear those opposing. The same thing happens here. Smear the critics. It's a mindset now.

Standing by for smearing

Could you please give an example of what smearing has taken place?

Sure. Check the thread title.

I have 57,000 more examples of smears of Cindy Sheehan.

Do you not know the difference between criticizing her motives and criticizing the person?

Limbaugh made a good point. The left has turned "Camp Casey" into a joke of what the mother intended. It is the anti-war groups with the approval of his mother who have done this no one else. When she makes statements that she has made about the war and the Bush admin she only lowers the seriousness of her situation. The only difference between Casey's mother and the rest of the anti-war groups is that she lost a son. Other then that she isn't any different in her words or her actions. She has said the same things that have been said by many on this website. She calls the same names and uses the same talking points.

She had he shot to meet the President and say what she wanted. She messed it up and wants another chance. Sometimes you only get one chance and if you miss it you won't get another. Have you ever seen Ace Ventura Pet Detective? Laces out Dan!!!!

When you make a comment that you aren't going to pay your taxes till you get a meeting and someone looks and sees that it wouldn't be the first time you haven't paid your taxes it takes the meaning out of it.

If this were her first time not paying her taxes it might mean something, it looks more like an excuse then anything else.

Ace Ventura huh?
If you want to maintain your credibility B, tap that edit button and get rid of that last bit.
Talk about lowering the seriousness of the situation.

Apparently Baldimo missed this:

Quote:
Horowitz, the former left-wing zealot who is now a right-wing zealot, described the woman who has camped out near Bush's Crawford, Texas, ranch as "hateful," accused her of dishonoring the memory of her son and promised that if Sheehan and other anti-war activists succeed in bringing an end to the occupation of Iraq then "rivers of blood" will flow in the streets of America.

Quote:
From the August 17 edition of Fox News' Hannity & Colmes:

LIDDY: Well, I think that it's true that there are Americans who feel the way Cindy Sheehan does. Unfortunately, they are Americans who are very anti-Israel and, in some ways, anti-Semitic. She uses the term how the "neocons" are doing this thing -- that's code word for "the Jews in the Pentagon." She has made statements such as --

ALAN COLMES (co-host): Are you calling her anti-Semitic?

LIDDY: Yes. If she gets Israel out of Palestine, then we can get out of Iraq. I mean, check out her statements, she's way out there.

COLMES: Cindy Sheehan's anti-Semitic?

LIDDY: Yes.

COLMES: That's outrageous.

SEAN HANNITY (co-host): It's outrageous what has been said.

ELEANOR CLIFT (Newsweek contributing editor): That is almost not worth responding to.

LIDDY: Look at her statements. Look at her statements and judge for yourself.

CLIFT: Look at your statements.

and this:

Quote:
Nationally syndicated radio host Rush Limbaugh equated the actions of Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a soldier killed in Iraq, with those of Bill Burkett, the retired Texas Air National Guard officer who provided CBS' 60 Minutes with unauthenticated documents regarding President Bush's National Guard record. Sheehan is currently staging an anti-war protest outside Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas. Limbaugh said that Sheehan's "story is nothing more than forged documents."

Sheehan's "story" is, in fact, that her son died while fighting in Iraq. A Humvee mechanic, Spc. Casey Sheehan was one of seven U.S. soldiers killed in Baghdad's Sadr City on April 4, 2004, by rocket-propelled grenades and small arms fire.

From the August 15 broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show:

LIMBAUGH: I mean, Cindy Sheehan is just Bill Burkett. Her story is nothing more than forged documents. There's nothing about it that's real, including the mainstream media's glomming onto it. It's not real. It's nothing more than an attempt. It's the latest effort made by the coordinated left.

This is a smear? Did you miss her comments of:

Quote:
"They're a bunch of **** hypocrites! And we need to, we just need to rise up..." Sheehan said of the Bush administration.

"We are not waging a war on terror in this country. We're waging a war of terror. The biggest terrorist in the world is George W. Bush!"

In a conference call with antiwar bloggers last week, Sheehan said that without the Internet America "would already be a fascist state."

I guess these are words of love then huh? Is she the only one who can talk $hit and get away with it?

....there are plenty of Bush supporters claiming Cindy has no cause to take the position she has and to do what she is doing. In that sense, they said she didn't have the right to protest.

Baldimo wrote:
Are you assuming to know what people are thinking? No one has said what you claim but you are going to guess at what they mean instead of looking and reading the words they use.

The opinion has been expressed several times that other people have lost family members in this war, but the families of the loved ones don't protest the war. Clear implication: Cindy's loss does not entitle her to do what she is doing.

Baldimo wrote:
Have you ever heard of Michael Gallagher? He has been supporting military families for a very long time. He always has donations added to his "Gallagher's Army" funds and he then donates all of the money to military families.

What Mr. Gallagher is doing is indeed admirable but it has nothing to do with our issue. As well you know. But you had to find a counterweight for the fact that Cindy lost her son due to Bush's decision, and she is due answers that Mr. Bush is not willing to deliver in person. Mr. Gallagher clearly is not that counterweight.

Dude, I don't care what she said, she is just one woman, as grieving mother who is a private citizen, not a politician or professional pundit. Maybe you better go back and read Horowitz's rant, who is a professional pundit with many years experience, do you really want to defend this statement?

Of course, Baldimo is not listening to anything Cindy says. he merely regurgitates out of context quotes from extreme right-wing bloggers/propagandists like those wackjobs from NRO.

I challenge you, Baldimo, to find this quote from a reliable news source:

Quote:
We are not waging a war on terror in this country. We're waging a war of terror. The biggest terrorist in the world is George W. Bush

BTW Baldimo, the allegation is that Cindy made this comment at San Francisco State (a college 5 minutes from where i live) I have not found a single reliable source to confirm this statement. I have spoken to a dozen people who heard the speech. No one remembers her syaing that. the quote comes from a David Horowitz website, not exactly a reliable source.

So you post fictitious quotes here and then run off? Is that the kind of tactic you will employ if you ever make it to a real war zone?
