Understood. I am fond of armadillos and would never harm one today. (unless the apocalypse happened and we were desperate)

How old were you when you first started drinking or smoking?
Smoking? When I was a small kid the parents kept the air blue with tobacco smoke in the evenings. So I was smoking second hand before I ever lit up. They thought it was funny to watch me gather up their butts, which were all tobacco in those days, and put the tobacco in a corncob pipe I made.
Drinking? I was 17. I went in bars and was served. One evening my brother and his friends took me along, drinking and speeding down a highway, right into a small town doing eighty. The cop that pulled us over put the over 18s in jail and turned me and another kid loose. We were at least 50 miles from home. We were told to come back in the morning. So we stayed in a church to sleep. Somebody from home came to pay our fines. I only drank when I was with those guys, which was not very often.

@hightor,
6.6.6. not six hundred and sixty six, but six three times. 144, 000, who are to take the thrones that are prepared for them and rule with Jesus for the thousand years Sabbath.

144,000 divided by 6 = 24,ooo divided by 6 = 40,000 divided by 6 = 6.6666666666666666 add infinity. Six is the number for man? ? ? Eternal Man

The neighbors across the street have a very nice dog that they allow to roam the street. When I open the outer gate of a morning he comes up to get a head rub. He has taken to walking to the mailbox with me and sometimes to the little store around the corner, depending how hot the day is. He is hungry for a companion, I think. He sometimes chases cars and he barks at folks passing by. With me, he loves the head rubs and a little kindness. I call him Ralf.

@izzythepush,
I thought I spelled Ralph wrong, so I Googled Ralf and it popped up, so I left it. Ralph Kramden is a loud mouthed Jackie Gleason character in The Honeymooners.

@edgarblythe,
Isn’t that the series that inspired The Flintstones?

The Flintstones was shown over here a lot, but I don’t think the Honeymooners did, not during my time anyway.

I remember Warner Brothers cartoons with two mice that I think were based on the characters, one mouse kept calling the other one Ralphie boy.

@izzythepush,
I believe so. The Honeymooners aired early in Gleason's career and he did just one season. A few episodes are entertaining, but a diet of it gets old.

When I was a kid I had nobody teaching me things. There was nobody to ask questions of. So I had to figure things out for myself. A great source of puzzlement was the mail system. Since I never saw a mail carrier, the main puzzle, How do the letters get in there? perplexed me. I think I was five. I reasoned that nobody would go around to every house on Earth just to put letters in boxes. Not an important job. Too many people to accomplish it. The pieces to the puzzle only filled in gradually. I urge parents to take time to talk to their kids and show interest when they have questions.
