The guy came this morning claiming he was here to bury my internet cable. I should have stood out there and watched him. He left the cable on top of the ground with debris swept over to hide it. I bet it takes a week or more to get a new somebody out here to do his job.
Week four of no more trash pickup. Somebody picked up a couple of the more unsightly pieces during the past week.

When I called to complain they kept replying by sending me in electronic circles until I snapped that the circles would continue for as long as I answered Yes to any of their questions. By my saying no to everything they quickly sent me to a live person.

I sold my purple Ranger a few minutes ago. Broke my heart to see it leave the yard.
It went under its own power, but the man checked to see if his chain was in the accompanying pick up. I don't believe they could make it all the way. The transmission went bonkers.
The man's taking the truck to his brother in Mexico.

Just watched Denzel in John Q. It's the sort of film I love. In the ones like this (such as The Negotiator) I feel certain the protagonist will win in the end. I just love how ingeniously they build the tension until the conclusion. Good job.

Somebody has picked up some of the street trash. In week five since I gave it up they did the most thorough job so far, but it's still a mess. Sprig 'em says I.

I thought the tall tree by my porch died. It lost most of its leaves and the rest went brown all the way up. But some recent rains have revived it. I think it's going to make it.
Went to the park for the first time in over a month. The new administration has allowed the entire lake to be grown over by lilypads and whatever else is out there. It's no biggie to the casual observer, but there used to be lots of fishing going on and now the fishers have had to find another lake in some other park. The ducks and goose remembered my wife of course and had to have their grain. When the weather cools a bit more we will resume regular walks.

Micky Dolenz, the last surviving member of the Monkees is suing the FBI for disclosure of files held on the band.
They were monitored for anti Vietnam war activity, and the FBI alleged there were subliminal anti Vietnam war messages at their concerts.
I saw the headline. If they went after the Monkeys, just imagine the files on, say, Barry McGuire. He attended demonstrations too. In the 60s the LA Free Press featured a picture of cops dragging him off with a handful of his hair.

One of the mysteries of growing up -
My left fore arm developed a heavily encrusted rash. There was no discomfort that I recall. I found myself in a clinic and getting an enema from a nurse who then picked me up and deposited me in a chair, where she beamed ultraviolet light on the rash. Never heard a name or explanation, it just cleared and I was good to go. I guess I will never figure it out.
