He did have plain brown rice for dinner, along with some sweet potato and a couple of slices of beets.

Musta worked, cause he's sleeping like a baby.

Good suggestion, lil k / Gus' mom. Very Happy

I'm sure the percoset and the ambien had nothing to do with it. I do feel more rested this morning and my stomach doesn't hurt, although it's gurgling. I'm going to try to have a smal bit of breakfast, some applesauce and a slice of dry toast and see if it works.

I did manage to man the phones and start making calls yesterday and booked myself a month of Satrudays starting Sept 17, so I'lll be steadily working on my calendar. This is a merciless business though and your shelf life with agents and owners is exactly as long as your last gig in most cases, no matter how good you are or how long you've been around, so just by missing a few gigs I've lost a couple of accounts. I'll just keep on keeping on and build my calendar back up.

After all these years, the dreaded subject of "regular job" has come up although squinney has not suggested or demanded it. My idea. Most of my friends think I should go into sales because I'm a closer and a damn good one. I'm thinking about it if I could find something that gave me enough flexibility to play in the evenings.

Believe it or not, in my past I've been a restaurant manager, but I believe I'd rather live in a box and eat my pancreas than manage a restaurant unless I was one of the owners.

BPB/BVT,

My younger brother has been a punk rocker for decades now (bass guitarist). He has worked as a studio musician for other people's albums. In the last ten years, he has been making most of his money as the manager of nightclub that is popular with college students in D.C. He occasionally performs at the nightclub.

Both shewolf and littlek gave you excellent advice on diet.

I've been at this since the sixties. I'll never fully give it up until I just can't do it anymore.

Glaring Goddess checking in again from the road...

WHAT THE HELL DID YOUR DOCTOR SAY ABOUT YOU DOING KARAOKE ON SUNDAY?

Betcha didn't even mention that, didja. Hmph.

I am SO not going to be amused when I get back to my computer on Monday and read that you're back in the hospital. I can just imagine how upset Squinney will be.

(If you absolutely must get a regular job...<shudder>...I do like the idea of you managing a club. You'd be a natural at that, and I think you could stick with it long-term.)

First priority has to be maintaining the position in the food chain. Anyway, is karaoke really that strenuous? Wasn't there; didn't do it, but it just doesn't sound like the physical level of a rock performance.

One is not left with the impression that any performance of the Bear is a sedentary event. I picture him jumping up onto the bar, moving around constantly, etc.

Just the breathing involved in reaching notes would be hard on the healing process

gotta do what I gotta do and no a karaoke show will not be too strenous as long as I dont sing and don't move the equipment. I can't afford to lose the income.

Very Happy

No kidding! Even heavily sedated just before surgery, his toes were still tapping.

Taking care of BearPack.
Income needed.
Understood.

Taking care of self.
Staying alive.
High priority.

Squinney, have you got a strait-jacket for theBear? Let him go do the karaoke gig - but he HAS to stay still.

Or else we're all putting our underwear back on.

Twisted Evil

Even Tico.
