If not, try squeezing his head. That normally does the trick.

OR.........is he good with numbers?
If he is a gifted Mathematician, he could always work it out with a pencil.

Yes, no news has been good news in this case.

Yes, he's "moving" right along and well on his way to recovery.

Probably looking at a Wednesday release back to the wild. Went to full liquids today so now he gets to add ice cream, sherbet, and pudding to his diet. Who can possibly complain about THAT? He was so excited yesterday about chicken broth, I thought he was going to get up and dance.

Went by this morning just after he had requested another dose of pain meds. Sat with him while he slept for a couple of hours, then had to leave. I've got so much to do today. Came home and thought I had missed the electric bill payment, but it was a general neighborhood outage.

Always swore I wouldn't be one of those women out of the loop on bills and finances and here I am after moving with no clue where he put bills or what is due when. Gotta go through and find all that.

Cool thing though, they gave us paper work at the hospital to draw up power of medical attorney and living wills for free while we are there (including me). Even can get it notarized for free. That's a neat service for a hospital. No excuse for not doing it now. They weren't thrilled to hear about Bears plan to be stuffed and sat in the corner for the "wake party" he wants when he goes, though the one male nurse thought it was very funny and made us promise to invite him.

That's your update for the moment. Won't go into details on the bowel movements other than to say that the answer to age old question of whether or not a bear "goes" in the woods is that a Bear "goes" anywhere he wants, just not on demand.

(Our sincerest apology to Bella and her pup) Laughing

Love,
Squinney

Sometimes some good things happen during bad times. Now you can be the financial partner that you should be. That will teach the big bad bear a lesson.

So relieved to learn things are getting much better. If the Bear behaves, the Cubs should be able to start driving him crazy in a few days.

Squinney--

Trust you to find the silver linings and draw sustenance from them.

By this time on Thursday, your life will be "normal" again.

Hold your dominion.

Today is indeed a good day. The eighth grandchild was born at 2:30 this morning and the bear **** outside of the woods. Good news day!

squinney,

Your updates are excellent. You mentioned a power outage. I hope your area wasn't affected by the hurricanes.

Your husband being allowed to eat again after so many days is great. My own hospital experience was similar. The first cup of juice tasted like expensive champagne.

GO BEAR! Razz Thank heaven he did. That is one of life's small pleasures, especially when you haven't been able to in a long while.

Sweet Squinney, how are you doing. Has this news made you less stressed? Did you take the time for a little pampering? Hope so.

Here's a joke for the Bear:

A male patient is lying in bed in the hospital, wearing an oxygen mask over his mouth and nose, still heavily sedated from a difficult surgical procedure. A student nurse appears to give him a partial sponge bath.

"Nurse," he mumbles from behind the mask. "Are my testicles black?"

Embarrassed, the young nurse replies, "I don't know, sir. I'm only here to wash your upper body and feet."

He struggles to ask again, "Nurse, are my testicles black?"

Concerned that he may elevate his vital signs from worry about his testicles, she overcomes her embarrassment and pulls back the covers. She raises his gown, holds his penis in one hand and his testicles in the other. She takes a close look and says, "There's nothing wrong with them, sir!"

The man pulls off his oxygen mask, smiles at her and says, "Thank you very much. That was wonderful, but listen very, very closely......
