The Palestinians and the Israelis both reject peace based on their rejection of the other's conditions.

Refusing to accept their own destruction does not mean that Israel rejects peace.

Insisting on Israel's destruction does mean that the Palestinians reject peace.

@oralloy,
It is precisely those terms that prevent the Zionists from owning their obligations to the Palestinians and accepting peace therefrom.

@InfraBlue,
Israel has no such obligation to allow Palestinians to flood into Israel and destroy it.

Exactly this. Her entire campaign is astroturfing bullshit. When has she ever marched in protest, or shown up to a picket line (when a campaign wasn't in progress or starting soon)?

Talk is cheap. You either have the history of activism, or you don't. Bernie does. She doesn't.

Elizabeth Warren: GOP, corp. attorney and Harvard law professor until 2012.

Her campaign theme is consultant-packaged fiction.

She had not even walked a picket line until this year but she's all of a sudden an expert on labor and movement building? lmao.

@oralloy,
Israel has the obligation to grant the Palestinians their Right of Return through various international resolutions and treaties. That it would destroy the Zionists' oppressively ethnocentric state would be a benefit to all of the peoples in Palestine.

@InfraBlue,
No treaty requires such a thing, and no Security Council resolution requires such a thing.

Israel is not going to consent to let the Palestinians destroy them.

The United States is not going to stop supporting Israel.

Palestinians in Area B should just give up and move to Gaza. They have no future in Area B.

Your first and last assertions are incorrect.

@InfraBlue,
That is incorrect. There are no treaties and no Security Council resolutions that require Israel to allow Palestinians to come flooding into their country in any "right of return".

My last line was advice, not an assertion. Since Israel is not going to hand any more land over to Palestinian control, and is not going to allow foreign Palestinians to participate in Israeli democracy, the only thing in store for Palestinians who stay in Area B is misery and deprivation. But if they move to Gaza they can become part of a future Gazan state.

Your first assertion is incorrect.

Your second paragraph is an assertion that's incorrect, as well.

Why couldn't they develop some kind of farming plan and get development help to achieve it?

Good luck getting the Israelis to release the water necessary for successful agriculture.

@hightor,
I'm not sure that olive trees require much water.

But yes. Palestinians are not welcome in the West Bank. They should pack up and move to Gaza instead of trying to stay where they are not welcome.

I guess what this really comes down to is a more universal problem of people not trusting others who attack them enough to support their population health.

You have to have security to support hostile populations; e.g. if people were constantly escaping from prison and attacking you, you wouldn't continue to support the prisons that were allowing the escapes, would you?

I guess that just brings us back to the perennial problem of how to achieve peace where there is no hope for doing so.

@livinglava,
I'm not sure that it is really a matter of trust. It's more that, since the Palestinians reject peace, Israel gets to keep Area B for themselves, so Palestinians in Area B need to leave and go somewhere else.

They already have a farming plan, and it has succeeded for thousands of years without needing any development help.

What Area B Palestinians don't have is the political independence that is enjoyed by the Palestinians in Gaza and Area A (although Area B Palestinians do have autonomy). This is because Area B Palestinians are living on the territory of a nation that they are not citizens of, and which does not welcome their presence.

@livinglava,
It isn't only about agriculture. It's about living space and the expansion of cities and towns which under Israel policy is impossible.
