Diana and JFK Jr secret affair claim

PRINCESS Diana had a passionate affair with John F. Kennedy Jr, according to a new book.
Diana and Kennedy, who both died in accidents in the late 1990s, met in New York in '95 when the son of the assassinated president sought an interview with her for his magazine, author Simone Simmons writes in Diana: the Last Word.
Diana refused, but agreed to meet Kennedy in his luxury suite in the Carlyle Hotel overlooking Central Park -- the same hotel where his father allegedly had a sexual tryst with Hollywood legend Marilyn Monroe.
Diana was "bowled over" by Kennedy's charm, according to Simmons.
"We started talking, one thing led to another, and we ended up in bed together. It was pure chemistry," Diana is quoted as saying.
Diana thought the pair would make a great team and even entertained the idea of becoming the US first lady if Kennedy were to enter politics.
Upon her return to London, Diana had an astrological chart drawn up on Kennedy and concluded that they were not compatible enough to pursue a relationship, according to Simmons.
They remained in contact for some time before Kennedy married Carolyn Bessette the following year.
Diana was killed in 1997 in a car accident in Paris. Kennedy, his wife, and her sister, Lauren Bessette, were all killed when the plane he was piloting crashed near Martha's Vineyard in July 1999.
Simmons, described as a "friend and confidante" of the late Princess of Wales, wrote an earlier book on Diana without mentioning the alleged Kennedy fling.
Her new book is being serialised in the Sun.
The paper yesterday promised more, including an astonishing revelation about Diana's life with Prince Charles.
Sources said it would include a savage assessment of her husband as a lover.
The paper defended the serialisation in an editorial saying it did not believe Diana's sons, William and Harry, would be hurt by the book.
But royal observers said that would depend on how specific the book will be about Diana's active love life.
