There is nothing "natural" about starving someone to death... If that was natural then we would not need food to "sustain" life... That is the whole point is to sustain it. If she was so brain dead and could feel no "pain" then what would have really been the harm to have let her live to at least comfort the living who "really" lover her... Dogs get treated with more love than her adulterous "husband " has done for her..

Ridiculous.

First of all, starving to death (actually, dehydration) is a completely natural way to die. To state that it is un-natural is to state that you don't understand what the word natural means.

Secondly, the fact you would advocate keeping a brain-dead woman alive in order to comfort her family is just plain sick and borders on Necrophillia.

You state that Dogs get more love than Terri has been shown; completely ignoring the fact that Michael devoted several years of his life to the rehabilitation of his brain-dead wife and was fanatical about her care. Please learn some facts about the case...

Sure ... it's as natural as falling off a cliff onto the jagged rocks below.

I see you understand. Accidents are one of the leading causes of 'natural' deaths.

Yes ... unless you're pushed, of course. Then it's no accident ... it's murder.

When it comes to the Bush boys, I guess so.

Like it or not, Schiavo will be an issue if Jeb decides to run in '08. It isn't so much just Terri, but the abuse of power by Jeb to attempt to step into the issue. A simple commercial of Jeb's interview on Easter Sunday will make it pretty much impossible for him to win.

Kicky
This has an effect on countless of people and it's extremely upsetting to many of us. I know I need to expess my feelings about it. They are killing an innocent woman by starving her to death, and if we don't voice our outrage, everyone will eventually lose all of their freedom. I cry for this woman every single day, so you better believe that I'm going to make some noise!

You can't kill someone who is already dead, Montana.

Terri Schiavo is dead. Her shell is still living, but the special, unique woman inside has been gone for 15 years, and isn't coming back....

That is simply not true Cycloptichorn! She has brain activity, which means she is not brain dead.
She should have had therapy all these years, so she wasn't even given a chance. Why didn't her husband have her get the therapy she needed?
I don't know why some people keep saying she is dead when all the tests prove that she is not.

Dead people don't open their eyes!

ASctually, I had 'sworn' not to respond to any comments about this case anymore.

But this is one of the worst responses I've read until now. Crying or Very sad

An msnbc article says That her parents claim she was trying to talk and waving her hands Sunday night. The closer to death she gets, the more animated she seems to become. At this rate when she does die she'll be riding in a float waving to people.

Why is my response so bad. The lawsuit that the husband won way back when included 700,000 for therapy and she recieved no therapy at all. The husband did nothing to try and help her.

Montana,

Please read some of the history of the case. I know that you mean well and are trying to defend someone's life, but to claim that she hasn't had the therapy she needed is preposterous. Years were spent in intensive therapy and rehabilitation between 1990 and 1994. There was zero effect.

Dead people in fact do open their eyes, as well as move, all the time. Many muscles continue to function, as well as reflexes, after death has occurred. My cousin is a mortician, and he's told me about everything from legs moving to eyes opening to arms jerking.

This is false. Have you seen the scans of her brain? The fact that the majority of her frontal lobe now consists of CSF, or Cereberal Spinal Fluid? And the rest of the brain (say, 30%) is severely atrophied.

Not trying to dump on ya, Montana, but you've been duped if you believe that years of rehab weren't attempted, or that Terri has any chance of recovering from having a non-existent brain. Don't be fooled by the segments shown on TV; they are carefully chosen out of hours of film where she doesn't do anything of note.

It is bad because it is so blatantly false. Terri lived with Michael and her parents for a few months. Terri was subjected to several therapies including some that were experimental. It shows a real lack of understanding on your part to think there was no attempt made. You believe it because you want to believe it. Because it makes Michael into the monster you want him to be.

Looks like you haven't been following the medical information links that folks like soz have been presenting about the Schiavo case, Montana.

Well, then I guess I was misinformed as far as the therapy is concerned, but it still doesn't change the way I feel about her being starved to death.

Montana's reaction is indicative of why Jeb Bush is damaged when it comes to running in 08.

It will be easy to point to the fact that Jeb let Terri die. Those that felt so strongly about Terri will simply refuse to vote at all if Jeb is the GOP choice.

Wrong! I wouldn't vote for Jeb even if this situation never existed!
