Okay, he called my post dung. He called me all sorts of names before. He just called me a racist right now. The guy has no respect for me, I get it and I don't complain about it. But why does he expect any respect from me, then?

That occurs to me. Its the intellectual equivalent of putting form before function. But in the end its the same thing: judging people from artificial standards.

EDIT: In light of his next posts, he's doubled down on 'you don't know your place'. Shocked to hear this sort of thing from a liberal.

Form is important, though, because good form allows the discussion to go on productively. IF that's what Snood is interested in, he will find that treating me with the same respect he affords others here is not beyond his powers, and that it may allow for potentially interesting discussions to develop between the two of us.

You’re so important to me on this forum that I don’t even remember why I originally put you on ignore. Obviously I thought you were being as offensive to me as you say I am to you. If my “insults” were so bad - cut and paste an example here. Or just admit you’re so full of yourself you can’t stand when someone pointedly disagrees. Just look at what you’re saying about people disagreeing with your opinion about Obama.

I think you've allowed yourself to get upset over a tempest in a teapot. We all are alloed to pretty much state out views the way we want here. Though it is not my place to judge, I believe you should have taken the opportunity to demonstrate how your comments were not merde to snood. I do think you made some personal complaints about snood that were inaccurate and intemperate.

Personally I think manure is a more gentile way of saying what I would have put at Bullshit. But that's me and I am no temperate person as I feel snood has almost always been. I don't expect either you or snood to live up to any standard of behavior. We are are no afternoon tea here. We are honest. That's what I know about snood: he is honest, even when he slurps his tea and I belch and you nit pick.

Gosh, the persecution you've been subject to this last hour really has been the worst.

Note: I never said anything about your comment regarding Obama. I merely commented on how your instant dismissal (for IMO trivial reasons) of a black man talking about his experience re: race in America (the current topic of discussion here) was right in line with many/most progressive voices.

But yes, I'm sure that your opinion as a non-American, non-black, critiquing how a black man leads a country (you don't live in) through such divisiveness (that you have not experienced) that's been brewing for 400 years is well worthy of thoughtful discussion while snoods opinion can just be casually dismissed (because you didn't like his "tone").

It's like you're a poster child for the progressive movement in America.

I'm open to a discussion about Obama's legacy and the limits within which he was working. Maybe indeed I was a bit superficial there.

What I am not open to is being treated like **** on this forum by you and a few other pricks, again and again, for no good reason. And it makes no difference to me whether your great great great great great great grandparents were predominantly from Sweden or from Congo. I don't like pricks, and they do come in all colors. Don't be one.

And that's all I have to say on this issue.

Unless you can demonstrate by showing an example of me being a bigger prick than you or anyone else, I’ll continue to think you’re just singling me out with this prima donna snowflakery. I’m open to continuing the discussion about Obama’s leadership- but I won’t be accused of being inordinately prickish unjustly.

You keep talking down to me all the time, every time there's the slightest disagreement. Are you aware it's not possible to agree 100% with others on everything all the time? You have to suffer disagreement a bit, for the sake of a discussion. You do that with others, so what's your problem with me?
