@layman,
Many blacks have taken MLK's sentiments to heart, including his own niece.

Quote:
TRUMP’S APPROVAL RATING WITH BLACK VOTERS MAY BE HIGHER THAN YOU THINK

As far as public perception goes, most black voters are not in favor of President Donald Trump. However, the numbers don’t exactly say the same thing....An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, the results show that 24% of black men approved of Trump...

For critics like policy analyst, Stewart J. Lawrence, the reason there is a segment of black men that support Trump comes down to his persona. “Trump is a genuinely ‘aspirational’ figure for some African American men — in fact, quite a few, higher than has been reported, I think,” Lawrence told Vox. “I did quite a few informal interviews before the 2016 election and [was] surprised to see how far this went...

To others like Ugonna Eze, a conservative black law student at the University of Chicago, while his actions are mortifying, his policies aren’t. “While I don’t appreciate some of his tweets or rhetoric,” he told Vox, “I think the president correctly assessed the challenges posed by China’s economic misbehavior, America’s protracted engagements in the Middle East, and the problems that came with lax enforcement of our immigration laws.” He plans to vote for Trump in the 2020 election.

I think Trump only got about 8% of the black vote in 2016. But, since actually seeing his performance in office, things have changed.

The math wizards say that Trump only needs about 12% of the black vote to virtually assure his re-election. Right now he seems to be well ahead of that.

Nice try, cheese-eaters.

Trump expanding base of black, Hispanic, suburban voters, has 51% approval

The improving economy and voter anger with the partisan impeachment process have helped to boost President Trump’s support among blacks, Hispanics, independents, and suburban women, according to a new survey.

The latest Zogby Analytics poll also showed that the president’s job approval rating continues to edge up despite his impeachment and the ongoing Senate trial.

“The president continues to receive a high approval rating near or slightly above 50% for the third straight poll. He has rebounded with Independents, women, suburban voters and suburban women,” said pollster Jonathan Zogby in his analysis.

Trump now has a 51% approval rating in the Zogby Analytics survey, the same level former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush had with they won reelection.

I wonder what Biden's approval rating will be once Trump and his henchmen indict his ass, and fully expose his crimes, eh?

If Biden wants a woman to attract voters, Tulsi is the HOTTEST, by far. Hell, if she'd give me a little action, I'd vote for her. The fact that she is a russian asset wouldn't deter me at all.

@maporsche,
Warren is a progressive, but she is not part of the cultish Bernie supporter type. Probably a lot of Warren's voters went to Biden after she dropped out.

Many progressives are waking up to the kind of atmosphere they created and it being self-defeating. In fact I read something to that effect earlier this morning.

Progressive Ideas Remain Popular. Progressive Presidential Candidates Are Losing. Why?

Quote:
Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, a leading progressive and a top surrogate for Mr. Sanders, said in an interview that her wing of the party needed to learn “political lessons” from this race.

Asked for examples, she said that reaching suburban women and older black voters, groups progressive presidential candidates have struggled to win over, may require different political tactics.

“There’s so much emphasis on making outreach as conflict-based as possible,” Ms. Ocasio-Cortez said. “And sometimes I even feel miscast and understood. Because it’s about what tools you use, and conflict is one tool but not the only tool.”

She said candidates did not have to choose between class-first politics and addressing racial inequities, but that they must articulate the interplay between them.

“Intersectionality isn’t about virtue-signaling or wokeness, it’s about how we build a majority in progressive Democratic politics,” she added. “If folks have bad racial justice frames, or gender justice frames, or identity frames, you won’t go anywhere in expanding the party.”

Quote:
Matt Morrison, executive director of the labor organization Working America, said left-wing Democrats told themselves a faulty story — that winning the policy argument was the foremost way to build a political coalition. But doing so also requires building trust with voters, he said, because most Americans “look and ask, ‘Are they going to win over voters that aren’t like me or don’t care about politics?’”

“The self-branded progressive wing has to go beyond just the policy that fits the needs of the community,” he added. “Voters see that clearly. They’re making judgments about the whole person.”

Quote:
Sean McElwee, the co-founder of the progressive think tank Data for Progress, said the left’s vulnerability was in some ways self-inflicted; since Mr. Sanders’s first presidential campaign in 2016, he said, progressives have not focused enough on persuading mainstream Democrats to support their cause.

“By refusing to acknowledge persuasion, we leave ourselves out of part of the equation,” he said. “For progressives to have a seat at the table, we have to start speaking in the language that people are actually thinking in.”

If I were a Democrat and had Biden as my candidate, I would be extremely confident that he will trounce Trump.

That may sound stupid, but, remember, I said "if I were a Democrat," eh?

I think we need our senators to stay in the senate, I would rather Warren stay to keep her seat in the Senate and hopefully more democrats, moderate or progressive, join her.

Speaking of which, I wish they would think about how we are going to deal with the election, both the primary and the general, during this coronavirus. Perhaps from this point onward, all voting will be done by mail. (never mind what I said before, it was stupid about the mail being no safer, clearly, it is as it keeps people at a distance.)

What a damn traitor, eh?

Quote:
Ilhan Omar praises Trump's 'incredible' response to coronavirus pandemic

Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar unexpectedly praised President Trump's handling of the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday night, saying it was "incredible and the right response in this critical time."

Omar, normally a staunch critic of the White House who herself has repeatedly drawn the president's ire, went on to quote Rep. Ayanna Pressley, D-Mass., as saying "unprecedented times require unprecedented leadership" -- and, Omar added, "we are seeing that in our country right now."

I mean, like, can you BELIEVE that ****!? Looks like Putin has found another corrupt politician to bribe, eh?

So what? People are entitled to their opinions, I disagree with her.

If the president didn't spend most of February downplaying Coronavirus, the US might not be so behind in testing. I am glad he has decided to take it seriously at last.

@revelette3,
Oh I know she’s progressive.

If it weren’t for Bernie being a “one-upper” and promising the most grandiose plans, knowing full well that they’d be impossible to implement, but using these fake plans to club anyone who wasn’t willing to lie to the American public as much as he was. She’d have rightfully be the progressive standard-bearer.

Bernie makes me sick with what he’s done these last two election cycles.

One more time. The presidents early travel ban on China saved our ass. Give credit where it is due. Any downplaying was made worse by people and the media for the purpose of defeating Trump. They do not give a **** about the people, and it shows.

Bernie is letting all hang out, he's in a bad mood.

Quote:
But on Wednesday, when asked during a question and answer session with reporters what his time frame for making that decision was, Sanders did not want to discuss it, telling CNN's Manu Raju, "I'm dealing with a f**king global crisis."

Sanders, who was at work in the US Senate to address the pandemic, added that "right now I'm trying to do my best to make sure that we don't have an economic meltdown and that people don't die. Is that enough for you to keep me busy for today?"

@layman,
Depends whom they hate.

If you see a repuke hating a dem, or a dem hating a repuke, well, that’s to be expected in a way. Even if a repuke hates a repuke, that’s also normal: like in the movies the real baddies have no sense of solidarity, they always fight one another, and that’s why they always lose in the end...

But a dem hating a dem is counter-intuitive. That’s why people say Lash is not a dem, because she hates Clinton a bit too intensely. It’s also counterproductive since the left must unite, not entertain bitter internal fights and petty hatred. The Biden bros who hate Sanders a little too much should ask themselves why they can’t relax and say ‘shalom’.
