As far as I remember, c.i. and the McTag's walked back home - what is known in Britain since that time as a "100km-shorty".

Expense account or not, we all chipped in for the taxi (cab)
We walked from the restaurant afterwards, from Marble Arch down Park Lane to the tube station (?Hyde Park Corner?) at the bottom, which took about 15 minutes.
However the taxi ride from Ye Olde Cheshire Cheese to the restaurant was no stroll- it took about 10 minutes in the cab and would have been about one hour on foot, at our pace.
A very pleasant evening.

Looked at the thongs this morning.
Decided against them.
Still a bit too cold.

Are thongs the same as here - those especially ungainly rubber shoe-things that you wear between your toes to flop around in. Yep - be tooo cold for them yet! Stop you getting athletes foot in public shower places - those sort of thingies?

Margo - the pic at the top of this page is of thongs - or as they are sometimes called : 'hippie toes' or 'barefoot sandals'.

There are some really beautiful ones made with semi-precious beads and crystals. Worn at beach weddings and formal events. As I recall, Demi Moore wore a set to some kind of awards ceremony about 15 years ago.

I love 'em, and am always glad when I can find them in the stores.

Thongs from The Prince. Not every woman can say she has those Cool
