Well, its about Goddam time. I had the artillery mustered on the 40th and was gonna come across the border in Calais but they were having this wonderful sale on Ganong Chockies that some of the boys took to pilligin and appropriating butter creams for the ladies.

Seems we have another incident over on the Western side . I gotta go and bail Ratzenhofer out. HE seems to have let his license expire for a few decades and he parked his Massey in a "no agricultural implements zone".

Buttercup- How wonderful! Cav will recuperate much faster with you at his side, in his own home, among his own things.

My heart is so much lighter with that news! Most excellent, Cav!

(Farmerman - Thanks for being on the ready. Feels good knowing you are in command.)

Okay, now we gotta worry 'bout gettin Gus outta reach of the long arm of the "Mounted Mounty!" Perhaps Prince could serve as a decoy? You know, kinda divert their attention. Come on Prince. You could do that for our buddy Gus, right? I mean, c'mon. I said... Mounted Mounty.

Wonderful news. Big Hugs to both of you! Here's a poem for the day of another happy couple... an old couple... my hope for Buttercup and Cav is someday they will be very, very old. <grin> But, please, quit giving all of us gray hairs now!!!

Mockingbirds

This morning
two mockingbirds
in the green field
were spinning and tossing

the white ribbons
of their songs
into the air.
I had nothing

better to do
than listen.
I mean this
seriously.

In Greece,
a long time ago,
an old couple
opened their door

to two strangers
who were,
it soon appeared,
not men at all,

but gods.
It is my favorite story--
how the old couple
had almost nothing to give

but their willingness
to be attentive--
but for this alone
the gods loved them

and blessed them--
when they rose
out of their mortal bodies,
like a million particles of water

from a fountain,
the light
swept into all the corners
of the cottage,

and the old couple,
shaken with understanding,
bowed down--
but still they asked for nothing

but the difficult life
which they had already.
And the gods smiled, as they vanished,
clapping their great wings.

Wherever it was
I was supposed to be
this morning--
whatever it was I said

I would be doing--
I was standing
at the edge of the field--
I was hurrying

through my own soul,
opening its dark doors--
I was leaning out;
I was listening.

Tuesday!!!!!

That is great to hear! I know he'll feel much better in his own bed, with his own food (sorta) and Mrs. Cav and his puppy(s?) next to him...how could he stay sick for long?

I'm SO glad to hear this!

Give him another big hug and a kiss from me.
