Republican Congressman Warns Black Attorney She 'May Go Missing' if She Tries Removing a Confederate Statue

Rep. Jason Spencer issued the threat in a Facebook post.

Republican member of the Georgia House of Representatives issued a veiled threat of lynching to a black former colleague who expressed anti-Confederate memorial sentiments on his Facebook.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Georgia State Rep. Jason Spencer (R) did exactly that on a Facebook post when former state representative LaDawn Jones expressed a distaste for a photo he took with a Confederate monument.

“This is Georgia’s history,” Spencer wrote on a post accompanied by a selfie he took with a South Georgia monument to Confederate president Jefferson Davis.

Jones, who formerly served in the state legislature until last year, questioned whether state tax dollars help pay for the upkeep of the memorial, which includes the house Davis fled to after the Civil War ended. A few comments in, Spencer began making threatening allusions.

“Continue your quixotic journey into South Georgia and it will not be pleasant,” Spencer replied. “The truth. Not a warning. Those folks won’t put up with it like they do in Atlanta.”

“I can guarantee you won’t be met with torches but something a lot more definitive,” he continued, responding to Jones’ comment about the store-bought tiki torches used by the white supremacists at the Charlottesville rally earlier this month.

After another person commented about the differences between Atlanta (a city with a large African American population) and the rest of Georgia, Spencer agreed.

“They will go missing in the Okefenokee [swamp],” he wrote. “Too many necks they are red around here. Don’t say I didn’t warn you about ’em.”

Jones didn’t back down from Spencer’s intimidation.

“Sounds like a threat of physical violence … is that what we are doing now?” she wrote. “Desperate times call for desperate measures huh? Afraid of what is going to happen in southern GA? I saw those white supremacists crying when sh*t really hit the fan.”

Did you see that maudlin article where Pa Kercher pretended that he was too "grief stricken" to enter the morgue and see the little slut lying dead on a slab?

That is really uncalled for.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Thank you, Finn, for speaking out.

I dare say that oralloy is scum. About six years ago (I don't remember the exact year), he copied and pasted an autopsy photo of the young murder victim's throat, which had been deeply slashed. He chortled over the murder victim. So, I sent him a PM to ask him why he had seen fit to do that. He response was incredibly lame. He said something to the effect that he was a warrior and that such tactics were necessary in his battle against what he considers to be evil. (It all reminds me of the stereotype of the hateful nerd pounding away on his laptop in his mother's basement.) I swear I'm not making this up.

I was so shocked at the time that words failed me and I had no further exchange with him. I should have reported him immediately, but I didn't. To this very day, I'm ashamed of my inaction. I had previously reported another member -- an Islamic extremist who had just threatened another member's life. Like I said, I am ashamed of myself for not reporting oralloy.

The way oralloy speaks of this murder victim and her family is absolutely despicable! Politics should cease when someone has died. (No, I'm not referring to monsters such as Hitler or Stalin or someone like Ted Bundy or John Wayne Gacy.) People who rejoice over someone's death or physical suffering are nothing less than barbarians. I consider David Duke to be an evil man; but if he came down with, say, terminal cancer, I wouldn't be any less horrified as I was when my mother succumbed to liver cancer at a relatively young age; and I certainly wouldn't chortle over his death! Anyone who chortles over the death of someone such as this young woman is a sociopath. He should have been banned permanently; but since I did nothing, he's still here!

This has absolutely nothing to do with politics! It is a moral issue!

@oralloy,
There is absolutely no need to slur the dead woman.

@Finn dAbuzz,
If I'm telling the truth about her and her family, am I really slurring anyone?

Anyway, I see a need. It is the only known way of silencing the internet psychopaths who will otherwise say unforgivably terrible things about the case.

Of course. Of course! Oralloy HAD to say terrible things about the dead girl. It was the ONLY way to prevent people from saying terrible things about the case!
😳
I don't know why in the world anyone wastes time trying to communicate with this person.

@oralloy,
Calling someone a "slut" is expressing an opinion, not telling the truth.

Indeed . . . such as calling someone who advocates banning political parties a fascist.

@ossobucotemp,
You universally reject anyone who does good in the world. You never hesitate to praise evil however.

On the other hand you're not evil yourself, merely highly gullible and easily manipulated by evil. Not that that is much consolation to the victims when you offer praise for atrocities.

We've gone over this before of course. But since you brought up your opposition to my goodness again, it merited a response.

Two women’s studies professors at Texas A&M, Tasha Dubriwny and Kristan Poirot, argued in an academic article earlier this summer that U.S. war memorials perpetuate “white heterosexual male supremacy, class hierarchies, and systemic violence...”

All the more reason to put women and trannies on the front lines, begin universal conscription, and do a major upgrade of battlefield weapons:

Inherently nationalistic maybe but it would be dumb to cede military history and the culture of war to conservatives.
