Not just words, and, above all, not promises that the war against the terror masters will soon end with a premature abandonment of what was always a miserably limited battlefield. This should be our moment.

Faster. Please?

Perhaps it will be "our moment" when the real architects of 9-11 are removed from Washington DC., along with the crooked lobbyists, congressmen and the man who squats in the oval office lying through his teeth to cover his own corruption and incompetence.

I fail to see how anyone can continue to support that bunch of greedy crooks after all that has been & continues to be exposed about them.

That includes republicans and democrats although it's very obvious that the Republicans lead the pack as usual.

Since we've been frank enough to admit neither of us has paid much attention to the other heretofore, I must further admit I don't know whether you are being serious here. Do you really believe the present administration was instrumental in the 9/11 attacks?

Tico,
She not only believes it,but has it posted on her website, and tries to convince every person on earth that she is right.

According to her, this admin is responsible for everything bad that has happened since the dawn of time.

According to her, this admin planted explosives in the WTC beforehand to make sure it would fall, they used remote control planes, and knew about the attacks while Clinton was still President.

You have run away from Kevins, yet you continue to attack me.
You should get over your obsession with me and move on to someone that is interested in you.

I am not that person.
As for my military record,I really dont care what you think.I have my DD-214 to show to anyone that wants to see it,I have my retirement, and I have my purple heart.
I do not have to justify anything to you,but I will come to your house (I still have your address),and show you if you want.

If I was getting stalked I imagine I'd want to know who my stalker was.

Judging the judge's judges

By Debra Saunders

Jan 12, 2006

If by some bizarre twist of fate the Senate fails to confirm Judge Samuel Alito's nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court, I have a suggestion for President Bush's next pick: Ted Kennedy.

After all, if some Democrats can make a federal case out of Alito's membership in Concerned Alumni of Princeton -- target on his inclusion of that membership in a resume he submitted 20 years ago and present failure to remember being in the group -- then I'd like to see how they tackle Chappaquiddick.

(For you kids, the Massachusetts senator drove a car into the drink in Chappaquiddick in 1969. Kennedy swam away, passenger Mary Jo Kopechne, 28, drowned. The accident was tragic. Kennedy's behavior afterward, however, was criminal. Rather than rushing to police after the 11:15 p.m. accident so that they could try to rescue Kopechne, Kennedy went back to his hotel. He did not call police until the next morning. Kennedy said he delayed because he panicked and was in shock. Many suspect he spent those hours trying to construct an alibi. After an investigation probably less intense than the Democrats' vetting of Alito's resumes, Kennedy pleaded guilty to leaving the scene of an accident. A judge sentenced Kennedy to two months, suspended.)

I've never understood what senators were thinking in allowing Kennedy on the Judiciary Committee in the first place. While Kennedy seems to consider himself a champion for the little guy, he is a walking tribute to a system that, in its low moments, allows the rich and powerful to get away with crimes that would put others behind bars. He is a discredit to the system.

In 1991, Kennedy had to scrunch down in his seat when his colleagues accused now-Justice Clarence Thomas of sexual harassment.

On Wednesday, Kennedy seemed like a crazy man when he suggested that the committee subpoena records relating to Alito and the Princeton alumni club. I know some people who don't buy Alito's "no specific recollection of that organization" answer. For my part, the older I get, the more credible I find it when other people claim lapses of memories.

In the end, this is all about smear. Some Democratic senators, like Dianne Feinstein, are ready to stick to the issues. I respect her questions. Alas, others -- like Kennedy -- dive deep into the sewer to make Alito look bad. They put what he did or said decades ago under a microscope. If they can't make Alito seem racist or sexist, they dig for some association, no matter how negligible, with a racist/sexist group. If Alito says he wasn't aware of how insidious the group was, he's lying -- or, critics intone with knowing cynicism, it's fishy.

For years, I've heard Kennedy fans say that it's a cheap shot to dredge up Chappaquiddick. Forgive and forget about Kopechne, they say-- but not the Concerned Alumni of Princeton.

That's why Bush should nominate Kennedy if Alito doesn't make it. There is no such thing as a cheap shot on the Senate Judiciary Committee.

Hee hee. Now it would be FUN seeing Ted Kennedy try to justify his credentials to sit on the Supreme Court. Smile

Well unfortunately the only credentials required for him to sit on the Senate is for him to be 35 years old, a U.S. citizen, and be able to convince, bribe, coerce, or fool enough people into voting for him when election time comes around. It's a pity. It would be really interesting if Senators had to pass some kind of ethics review before obtaining a Senate seat.

Now if you think that I would give bu$h the credit for having that kind of brain, you would be wrong. I do know that he has surrounded himself with some of the meanest, nastiest, low-life types who pull his strings and who have been looking for an opportunity like this for years. Yes, they would do it and you can bet that they got ole dumb george to sign his name on something so that if they go down, so will he.

Would you believe that the Joint Chiefs of Staff already did something like that only to get it vetoed by JFK.

It's public record. If the Joint Chiefs of Staff would write up a "how to" to commit acts of terrorism against citizens of this country, do you doubt that an administration that has placed itself above the law, that has lied about just about everything that has happened since they seized office, could do likewise?

Check your history. I have no doubt that the bu$h gang of thugs are capable of anything and I do mean anything.

I don't understand how bu$h supporters can turn a blind eye to his lies, the corruption, the murder that is being committed in your names..... especially the lies, after the way you screamed about Clinton telling a lie about a private affair? You guys sure have your priorities all screwed up.

I suspect my level of lucidity is just as high, if not higher than yours. I am not one to continue to believe someone who commits the same crimes repeatedly. That's called common sense.

But before it gets too serious here is the best I can say about your buddy bu$h.

George Bush is a saint

George W. Bush was scheduled to visit a United Methodist
Church outside Washington as part of his campaign. Bush's campaign
manager made a visit to the pastor, and said to him, "We've been
getting a lot of bad publicity among Methodists because of Bush's
position on stem cell research and the like. We'd gladly make a
contribution to the church of $100,000 if during your sermon you'd say
the President is a saint."

The pastor thinks it over for a few moments and finally says, "The
Church is in desperate need of funds and I will agree to do it."

Bush shows up and, as the service progresses, the pastor begins his
homily: "George Bush is petty, a self-absorbed hypocrite and a nitwit.
He is a liar, a cheat, and a low-intelligence weasel. He has lied
about his military record and had the gall to put himself in a jet
plane landing on a carrier posing before a banner stating "Mission
Accomplished." He invaded a country for oil and money, and is using it
to lie to the American people. He is the worst example of a United
Methodist I've ever personally known...But compared to Dick Cheney and
the rest of his cabinet, George Bush is a saint."

Magginkat is correct, of course, and in accord with 90% of the developed and well-informed world.

Have you noticed, Magginkat, how few posts we see which actually praise the Pres. Wonder why that is?
The rabid right are reduced to sniping at the opposition, making facetious comment and trying to hide their embarrassment.

I'm sorry, McT ..... you believe 90% of the "developed and well-informed world" holds the belief that the Bush administration was instrumental in the 9/11 attacks?

I am going to assume that by this you mean the developed nations of the world, the first world nations.

So,can you cite any polls, surveys or anything else that back up this claim?
Do 90% of the citizens in each country agree with you,or are there countries where less then 90% agree with you and countries where more then 90% agree with you?

I think that this claim is just something pulled out of thin air, just to try and back up a wildly stupid claim.

If the numbers aren't that high, then they are close.

I don't know anyone - ANYONE - who believes the gov't line about what happened. Including my Conservative parents.

No, that's not what I said. Only about her opinion of GWB and his coterie of crooks.

We have discussed the other matter at length. My opinion is that 9/11 was expected and welcomed by at least some people in the know, only the severity of the outcome being unexpected.
It was certainly very helpful to the Administration's plans for the ME, to put it no stronger. But I think they are guilty of sacrificing some of their countrymen to further their aims. We will never know.
