I asked Set to go the Serbian bakery before it closed this afternoon.

Wanted a few New Year`s Day treats.

He got there about an hour before they closed and it seems they didn`t want to leave anything in the store til Tuesday. He came home with two big bags of burek, bread and pastries for about $7 Cdn. Score !!!!!!

It happened Friday, but I'm still smiling!

We purchased a GE range in early December. The baking drawer at the bottom wouldn't stay closed, and after two service calls, it was deemed unrepairable, so GE shipped a new one. The delivery company called to arrange a time, and I asked if they would be removing the "old" one. They hadn't been advised to do that, so I called the GE service rep., who said that it's ours to do with what we like.

Surprised and delighted? You bet!

@mckenzie,
Wha?! That's great McKenzie.

You gonna sell on craigslist or something similar, or give to someone?

A low-key New Years Eve at the legion.

Worst lead singer in a cover band ever.

Hugs from people we don't know and never will.

It was like being in Waiting for Guffman.

Hugs from people we know and like.

There was a lot of smiling.

@chai2,
We offered it to our son because it's a higher end range than his, with convection, a temp. probe, large capacity oven, etc., but it's currently in our basement because by the time the replacement was delivered, he hadn't decided. He'd just replaced the main control panel on his own four-year-old range.

Perhaps we'll keep it for parts. Our previous range was only five years old, but the $800 main control panel had failed twice, once while under warranty, and again this December. Planned obsolescence. They don't make the control panel anymore.

one of the comedians described himself as handsome - Coronation Street handsome

I might have snorted during that bit of his routine

As of the beginning of the year, I am working four-day (32-hour) weeks.
Every weekend is now a long weekend.
