The parrots name, Peaches, reminded me of a friend of mine.

She had a parrot, and 2 dogs. The dogs were Meanie and Peaches.

The parrot sounded just like my friend. Did her laugh and had her tone down perfect.

You'd hear the parrot entertaining himself in the other room...

Peeeeeaches.........Peeeeeaches........Meanie come! Meanie come! ........Peeeeeaches......

She also had one of those pot belly pigs. The kind that live in the house and all that.

That takes me back to a laundromat in Miami in the mid '50s. The sign said White Only. Equal facilities for colored at (whatever address). We'd moved down from Kansas and my sister thought we had to go elsewhere to do blue jeans and other colored clothes.
