Oh this day in 1943 my parents were married in the Chaplin's quarters at Ft. Moultrie in South Carolina. My mother arrived by train from Baltimore. My Grandfather who worked for the B&O railroad, insisted she check her bags because it would be easier for her to travel. Mom arrived on time, but the dress she had made to get married in arrived 2 days after the wedding.
I have a beautiful portrait of my parents, after the dress arrived, Dad in an Army Air Corp Uniform and my mother in a beautiful sapphire blue velvet dress. They made a lovely couple. Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad, we miss you.
