@dlowan,
not, it's really hard for me to get to a fax.
No way was I using my work fax, for reasons including that no way was I giving these people the means to send threatening material to my work!
I finally managed to squeeze in a visit to a fax machine on Friday and repeated my numerous cancellations by fax.
Yesterday I received an email saying they had charged me a further subscription and saying they had placed the matter in the hands of their debt collection agency.
Cool, said I, I need the name and address and phone number of your Australian boss and the collection agency because I will now take the case straight to small claims court. I demanded various documents, pointed out again how they had violated their own published TOS, demanded proof of how they had informed me of the tripling of their fees (which their TOS said they had to do for any fee rise), why they had not followed their own TOS by canceling the service as soon as their attempts to take my money failed etc etc
Oddly I was emailed today saying they had kindly agreed to forgive my debt.
As I figure it they owe me $160 but I'll likely chalk it up to experience.
