two little guys, mebbe 4 or 5 years old. walking and laughing and holding hands as they cheated through my yard.

I watched from the kitchen window, as they were kinda smallish, to see what they were up to...

they went over and got the two little guys that moved in across the street and all four of them headed back across the town square to where they were gonna go play. (making nascar noises and pretend racing each other as they went)

As if my birthday falling this year on Memorial Day wasn't a big enough deal, it looks like I have sold my house. A flurry of emails betwixt realtors this morning settled the last couple of issues it seems.

That old A/C weather is here. I had to take out my evaporator coils this weekend. Won't have a replacement before Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday. Fortunately, we have a window unit that affords a little (very little) relief.

@farmerman,
91? What a treat. It will approach 110 here by Sunday. Nevertheless, I'm smiling this morning because my two and a half month long bronchitis seems to be winding down this morning.

Watching my kid babysit for the first time (I was there as backup, I didn't end up doing much though). Both my kid and babysat kid had a great time. The baby is three and adorable, and sozlet introduced her to running through the sprinkler for the first time. I watched from behind a glass door, and at intervals the 3-yr-old would come running up with a huge grin on her face and say to me "We're having FUN!!!" and then run off. Each time there was another "fun." ("We're having FUN FUN FUN!!!")

Also... she was inspecting her bathing suit before getting ready for the sprinkler (hot day) and noted that it was size five. She said to sozlet, "Sozlet my swimming suit is size FIVE and I'm only THREE! That is interesting, sozlet! That is coool, sozlet! That is interesting and coool, sozlet!" (The "sozlet" part was actually sozlet's real first AND last name -- the 3-yr-old knows another girl with sozlet's first name and so always refers to sozlet as sozletlastname [all run together].)

Anyway, very cute and fun.

Canoeing on the Charles. We went upriver from Newton. A kayaker got a
little too close to a family of swans and Daddy swan made a warning
display. He rose to his full height, neck stretched high and wings wide.

Magnificent!

@George,
Awesome! Congrats to Nigel.
I have had the pleasure of meeting George, and he and Rhys play hard, often well, in some of the A2K sports games.
Thanks for the pic of the whole family.
