That's for sure. Sometimes you just have to pick up the phone and hope you're not waking her up on account of all the time zones. 'Course, when that happens, that's what made me smile.

Your signature line is what makes me worry about this trait.....

I might be a putz with keeping in touch, so I guess I expect the same in others. But I don't forget people and worry (somewhere down deep) that people will forget me. Selfish, but true.

Unless of course, I truly piss off said person and they have a good reason for not wanting to see me again.....

Hey! It could happen!

LOL! Don't let the signature line get to you. It takes a heck of a lot more that not keeping in touch to rattle this girl ;-)

I love you to pieces too Roger :-D

This made me laugh! Thanks, Margo.

Gee, I'm in the middle of a lovefest. I love you guys, too. Does that mean if you don't write except here, it's not OK?

Here's what made me smile...

Pearl, the big draft horse, needs to have supplements every now and then. She thinks they taste icky (she's right, they do) so I always mix them with molasses into a yummy mess, usually with little bits of apple core. She's big, so it goes into a huge bowl from the kitchen, and then I have to hold it so she doesn't feel she needs to put her hoof in it, to hold it steady. She licked and licked the bowl yesterday, drawing it out. When she's done and sometimes in the midst of licking, she'll stop to nuzzle my hand with her nose. Very sweet.

Well, I was saddened by the death of Johnny Cash, but I had to smile when I read the lyrics to his song, "A Boy Named Sue". Smile

Big smile...picked up my son from school. Asked how his first spelling test went. (It's his hardest subject.) His little face fell. "Horrible. I missed four," he said. So then I asked him if his teacher had given him a letter grade. He fished for the test paper in his backpack and his eyes almost popped out: "I got an A!" So then I say, "Well, that doesn't sound horrible to me at all, it sounds GREAT! Let's go get some ice cream!" When we reached the next traffic light, I watched him in the rear view mirror as he stared at his test paper, a grin slowly spreading over his face. Then he looked up and caught me watching him. And said, "I sure do love you, Mom."

(I bought him TWO scoops.)

Nah, he meant it. He tends to be a perfectionist...very hard on himself. Until I brought it up, he hadn't even looked at the overall grade he got...just at the ones he missed. He gets it from my side of the family. I used to do the same thing, only my parents would ask, "Why did you miss four?" I'm trying to teach him to be easier on himself.

Yep, and I got a hug AND a kiss for that!!!
LOL!

(Best of all, when we got home, he put it on Dad's desk for him to see. He only does that with stuff he's REALLY proud of.)

Try not to be such a cynic, Bill.

Not a cynic Eva, didn't want it to come off that way, I really think it is great. Early triumphs are good - we always take our kids to the ice cream shop after a concert, things become traditional and kids will always remind us if we have missed something. It is fun when you can point out missed things, as in this case and get the rewards. Seems rewards went both ways, huh Wink

I find that my humor has a tendency to be cynical or ironical (actually, both have their similarities). Anyway, when called on it I want to deny - but, the truth prevails. One thing though, I don't want to hurt, ever. I apologize!

BillW -- you didn't offend me at all! I'm certainly guilty of my share of cynical responses on here. And my son has certainly been known to try to manipulate me, as all children will. I just wanted you to know this wasn't one of those times, that's all. Yes, rewards go both ways. Love is like that. (smiling again!)

The 3 year old I care for, E, asked why temper tantrums were called temper tantrums after just having a temper tantrum. I told her I'd find out and tell her next time I saw her.

Well, I told her about the word temper, but couldn't explain tantrum. I'm going to research it.
