@ehBeth,
Lovely, ehBeth. (Made me smile, in fact! Smile )

That Thomas must quite a charmer. Is there one (just one!) person he's met who hasn't taken a charm to him? Wink

(Your post was a while back, I know. Still catching up here.)

@dlowan,
Quote:
I wasn't quite sure where to put this one....but it did make me smile inside, but it's bitter sweet.

One of my munchkins today......a very little girl who has, of course, experienced awful things in her family.....became absolutely overwhelmed with anger at her mother today. As she busily beat the crap out of her using one of our punching bags, she disclosed scene after awful scene that she had witnessed.

I said at one point "I am so sorry that you had to see that happen."

She is not a little girl accustomed (yet) to empathy from those around her.

She stopped immediately, looked over at me with wide, worried eyes, and said with great kindness and reassurance: "Don't be sorry.....it's not YOUR fault."

I had to reassure her quite vehemently that I knew that, before she could resume her business.

Just read this, Deb. (Still catching up.)

Your post almost made me cry. What a generous little girl ... considering her (obviously extremely upsetting) life experiences to date. Possibly your words were the first (maybe the only) acknowledgment she'd ever received of the toughness of her short life so far ...

I begin my journey south by the end of March, hopefully ending up in Tucson, where I will spend the remainder of my days staring at lizards, basking in heat, and spending my money in a reckless fashion.

Don't forget the tumbleweed, Gus. It's Tucson's main attraction.

Actually, Thomas there were three charming Australian ladies in it. Smile

... & on this quite chilly morning in Melbourne, Oz today, someone discovered she'd forgotten to set her alarm clock the night before & had one helluva rush around before heading off to work! (don't ya just hate it when that happens?)

Are you saying the limits of Australian seasons are round months, not solstices and equinoxes? That's interesting!

It's neater that way!

Spring is here; Spring is here;
Life is skittles; Life is beer!

It's spring!

Bloody lovely in Sydney today - despite my having to sit in this cage!

I presumed you meant that I was less than charming! Crying or Very sad (it had to be me - I've met the other two, and they both are! Razz )

@margo,
Thinking of my professor in Games and Simulations. I asked him to identify the song by my brief clue of "Vernal execution". Was I surprised when he immediately came back with, "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most"
