it was a sunny and hot day after days of grey coldness, and i slept enough, finally feel healthy and cleaned my room down to the last inch, including windows, curtains, rugs, floor....every last inch. good day.

Girl I started dating has court-appointed AA meetings to go to. Not because she's an alky.

As she was leaving her apartment, she grabs a couple of beers and cups. Explains how her and her friend have a ritual before going in, where they drink a beer in the parking lot.

My kind of girl.

I'll probably double post this here and in the "What made you grimace and grit your teeth today" thread. Just before the Great East Coast Heatwave of 2008 hit New Jersey, my apartment was hit by a triple whammy.
  • The blower of my air conditioning system is broken.
  • It cannot be replaced without flooring in the attic, which doesn't currently exist.
  • Repairing the blower requires that the repair personnel access the front of the AC unit. However, the AC unit is installed in such a way that its front almost touches the roof, and therefore cannot be accessed. I won't have a functioning AC until the unit is reinstalled, and until the attic is equipped with flooring.
My apartment is 95 degrees hot as we speak, so hitting the cold shower made me smile. Several times this weekend.

You and I are in very similar circumstances, Thomas. My room A/C has decided to go on strike and, as it's Sunday, I wasn't able to get a replacement. I'm sitting here in a pair of shorts and flip-flops on my feet, wondering if there's the least chance I'll be able to get some sleep tonight.

But even the cold shower didn't bring much of a smile.

I have great cool tile floors, big box fans and a strong cool breeze coming from the AC. Smile

what made me smile yesterday was explaining , or at least attempting to explain, how a lamp works.

We have a really cool older lamp from.. I think the 70's.
Green, round, top can swivel to either point up or down, heavy metal base..
Looks like something out of close encounters of the third kind haha!

any way

she was eating nothing but strawberries and cheese staring at the lamp.

She asked me why its bright. I told her because the bulb is carrying electricity and it makes light.

Of course that made no sense to her, or myself for that matter so I tried to find a simple explanation on the web, but lost her interest before I could give her a reason why bulbs work .

This little lady wants to go back to new mexico almost as bad as I do

She keeps asking when we will " go to the bedroom again"

Bedroom is what she calles the Motel.
Since, you get to sleep in the same room that you eat in, she thinks it is a grand treat. Laughing
