I crawled out of bed, turned the alarm clock off, made my way to the bathroom, and then realized, I was dreaming. Then I smiled because it occurred to me that it was Saturday.

My morning 'lovies'

When I began to wake up, little Flash races to my pillow and lays over my neck purring loudly.
As i wake up, he begins to lick my face and purr harder.

As I walk around making my coffee and starting breakfast for everyone else, he follows me licking and rubbing on my ankles 'singing' to me..

i'm gonna be a poster for a movie. Laughing

friend of mine is a film director, and it's gonna be her second feature movie - set among the skinheads of slovakia... .dunno the story yet.
she liked a photo i had online -- fooling around for my old boxing trainer's studio (we called it the Garage of Pain) ads. Those didn't work out, but she's all over it. Silly.

You look awesom, Dag! I am just a little bit scared of you now.

I smiled about the funny emails my friend keeps sending me to cheer me up. Or rather about the fact that I have such a great friend.

My snowdrops are coming up.

A varmit tasted the tips of the leaves, but spit them out. Snowdrops are poison.

The buds on the forsythia I brought inside on Saturday are starting to open.

The pussy willow buds are almost all catkins.

This picture made me smile.

Also, got an e-mail from a friend. She likes that I'm not trying to paint a rosy picture of stuff. Appreciates that I call 'em as I see 'em. Appreciates that I'm negative and nuts.

Friends. Da best.

"Csak kave" - "just coffee" - the homely middle-aged woman mutters, deflated. She's peering into the chique little coffeeshop on Bank utca, named after the National Bank down the road, and she's addressing her husband, a man of some size with a ponytail and a folkloric looking baret that betrays nationalist political leanings. He is already half on his way, clearly never interested in the first place.

But the woman belatedly discovers an opening. "De van szendvicsek!," she exclaims - "but they do have sandwiches!". He is already a few steps out, however, when she pleadingly ups the ante: "Magyar szendvicsek is van!". Hungarian sandwiches, too! But he is already summonning her, gruffly. "Fordits mar." Come already. Woman. When I'm done locking my bike she is trodding behind him in resignment, down toward the metro stop.

Jane (12) had a pre Valentine's Day dance at her school; she was
so excited and all dressed up. When I was driving to pick her up, I was reminiscing about the school dances I used to have around that age. It always was a bit awkward: the boys standing in one corner talking and the girls in another corner giggling and eyeing the boys in great anticipation -
but nothing ever happened. The boys were too shy to ask us for a dance, and in the end we danced with the other girls.

As I entered Jane's school to pick her up, there they were: boys
on one side of the room, and the girls giggling on the other side.

Some things never change. Very Happy
